Todd in the Shadows | July 1, 2026

It’s the most popular song of the year and it really sucks!!

I feel like people will hate on anything these days like chill buddy, if you don't like the music just say you don't like and move on, not everyone can be Ed Sheeran, David Kushner and it's alright , just enjoy music if don't then don't listen

This song is (like you've mentioned) popular in the UK, but in fact, it's SO POPULAR here that I thought he was British.

Music here has become extremely shallow…

I have to protest Hozier's inclusion in the white boy oversinging club, his music is so much richer than either of those hits make it out to be! He's folk rock, heavily influenced by blues and soul, and his lyrics have so much depth to them. even he is baffled by how Take Me to Church got so big, and Too Sweet wasn't even on his latest album so idk where that came from.

So. Seemingly an unusual pov for this comment section… I was very aware of Alex Warren

But not for Ordinary. For Eternity, which I personally think is a _much better song_.

He also has not ever shown up on my internet as "wife guy" but as "orphan guy" because uh… Apparently half of his songs are dull love songs and the other half are him being sad about his dead parents… Maybe it's just because they're good songs for my OC's, but I like the other half of his songs much better 😂

I never clocked this as sounding like Christian music because while I've been to church quite a bit, I'm black and Southern Gospel is my reference for Christian music lol. I've only been to a white church once and probably heard music like this, I don't remember, and that was only because my mom and I were invited by our neighbors.
