To me P4 is peak Periphery. Other than Crush which I agree with you on being underwhelming, it's almost perfect start to finish song-writing wise, especially the choruses… Hopefully the latest one grows on me like Avenged Sevenfold's latest album grew on me after not liking it at first.

I may have misheard but you mentioned this album felt like a band with sprinkles of metal…..the first 3 songs are the heaviest opening Periphery has recorded perhaps in their entire discography. TALK has to ba a staple in future setlists.

Tbh Misha has said in the past that the music Periphery releases is not immediately digestible in a sense, it takes time and multiple listens to truly appreciate each album.

Gotta disagree with PWD. It’s the first periphery album in 15 years I actually felt like they did something totally new. Honestly right up there with P2 atm

I largely agree with this ranking, though I might swap P4 and P5’s places.

Was really hoping for this new album to be more consistently heavier. Mr. God, Subhuman and Unlocking are definitely my favourites, everything else was kinda ehhh

This new album is doing a great job of scratching itches I didn't know I needed scratched, this is the first periphery album since P3 that I can comfortably sit through front to back – also I am obsessed with "obsession" lol I've listened to that song an embarrassing amount of times

Saw Periphery live at Thrash & Burn tour in 2010… Greeley estates, motionless in white, born of Osiris, stick to your guns, impending doom, Chelsea grin, evergreen terrace, asking Alexandria… Good fucking times man. Good fucking times.

Here I was just opening the app and thinking to myself "I hope Metal Trenches is doing a Periphery tier list"

I definitely think APWD is more enjoyable than P5 with more memorable tracks. Talk, Heaven on High, Unlocking, Carry On, Neon Valley and Everyone Dies Alone are all certified bangers. I only really vibed with Wildfire and Atropos on P5.

I remember you had P3 at the top of your last ranking and it's good to see you haven't really changed your opinion on it. Fantastic record I think it gets overlooked by fans

Hail Stan is definitely my favorite. The album came out while my wife was pregnant with our daughter and we were vacationing in Hawaii. Always brings me back to some of the happiest times of my life. Album slaps too 🤣

I also had that initial feeling with alpha/omega alike. Love them both now, but at first they didn't sit well with me.

I definitely have Clear higher up on my list though, that EP hits right for me. And P3, while great, is down a couple notches lower for me.

Pale White Dot grows on me more and more each listen. I'm really loving it more than you seem to be.
