People Have Stopped Paying Their Bills… And It’s Worse Than Many Realize

A Homestead Journey | July 29, 2026

People have stopped paying their bills, and it’s worse than many realize. Across America, more households are falling behind on credit cards, auto loans, utilities, rent, and other monthly expenses as the cost of living continues to squeeze family budgets. Rising debt, higher interest rates, and persistent inflation are leaving many people with impossible financial choices.

In this video, we’ll look at what’s driving this trend, what the latest numbers reveal, and why missed payments could signal deeper economic challenges ahead. If you’ve noticed these changes in your own community, share your thoughts in the comments.

Might as well share my struggles as well. I get 733$/month and its 900$ for rent, utilities and food. I have an amazing situation but thats -127$ a month not including enjoying myself at all. No phone, no car, no gas. A gilded prison. But remember there are way more good people put there. Its easy to forget looking at how bads things got.

Please don't give up hope guys. I have been there. Things are changing. One thing I noticed over covid was that I had alot of free time. I started to figure out what I wanted to do with that time. Alot of walking and thinking. Spending it with friends and like minded ppl is something we need to get back to. Not just internet communities. The tech has given us world wide connection yes but has it replaced real life? In some ways yes but it will never he the same. Idk how yet but build a local community.

Why? Because nobody has the balls to “resort to violence” anymore. What do you think the American Revolution was? Terrorist traitor insurrectionists who resorted to violence.
You’ll be slaves and you’ll like it. Covid proved there’s nothing the government can do that would make us take up arms, “resort to violence”, and rebel.

I’m not advocating anything, just pointing out the truth because nobody else will say it. People get the governments that they deserve. Always.

They lied to you saying that there’s nothing between wild capitalism and communism. In social democracy you own your house, you can have your business but you have social services, public health care, public education…it’s time you wake up.

I LOVE THE IDEA !! But you will never have SOLIDARITY !!! People will say they are doing it and don't. You need to look at how much you are living beyond your means. After you fix the fact that you don't need to have that new car, or live in this area, and realize that you are materialistic. Then you will realize you are living beyond your means. I get the government should do something, but good luck we are to worried about illegals getting stuff b4 Americans. If we all become Americans black and white and etc and co-exist without the R word. That's step 1 step 2 is not living beyond your means to show you are wealthy, when your broke. Look at your lifestyle 1st b4 you do something stupid.

Donald John Trump said today I’m actual TV and an event that he didn’t give a damn about anybody in United States and bills on gas food and everything is getting ready to go up again so I’ll try to figure that one out😮

Funny how its always "I'm done paying my credit card bills" instead of "I'm done using my credit cards" smh we have a massive financial literacy issue

Unless you are disabled or lost your job through no fault of your own, you should pay your credit card bill, but you won’t, and you will suffer the consequences. Oh by the way, there are consequences.

My mom never aver used ANY credit. We don’t even know her credit score and probably it doesn’t even exist. She rented apartment in Hollywood CA back in 1995. I am 55 , and I also hate to be in debt. My second ever car loan was closed in 5 months in 2018. Rent, insurance, phone is all my bills. I get paid $19.50 before taxes right now and I am glad that I have a minimum possible bills, otherwise it would be much harder to survive. Hollywood California.

I threw all my food away cause it’s bio engineered and I’m starting over from fresh. I threw everything away because everything is in it bread cakes, cupcakes, hashbrowns everything I went to Central market and I got all Clean food and it’s real food. It’s not poison.

Not paying your credit card bill and thinking the credit card companies won't come after you. That's wrong; it will eventually catch up with you.
