Cerebras has unique tech and sold track record in government and academic science HPC uses. Their software stack is very flexible with FPGA like capabilities to optimize for different types of workloads and models. It's a shame they are getting caught up with the OpenAI bubble scam.

OpenAI: Hey mind if we inflate your share price by committing to by your chips, will you give us some free shares which we can sell for cash flow or to inflate our value before we IPO – oh and your CEO gets a nice bonus for expanding the order book, even if ultimately we donât actually meet the order.

18:15 "this creates a massive barrier to entry" – except if AI coding models work the way they constantly advertise, the barrier is gone. One of the things AI models are arguably good at is converting existing codebases to new language frameworks. CUDA's moat is narrow.

One thing you didnât mention and which is key here is that g42 isnât just some sovereign investment fund in tech/AI and real estate. Itâs headed by the UAE national security advisor and head of intelligence⊠they are pumping money into their own ai models and whatnot because they want them to supercharge their state surveillance and military apparatus. The listing and OpenAI bullshit is just to gain more exposure to US investors as part of their wider campaign to buy influence with the trump admin
@ForcefighterX2
May 28, 2026 at 6:30 am
Yeah, sure, now they only need to support the proprietary CUDA language with they cannot. Thus, they have no chance but to implement ROCm from AMD, which is open but less supported and matured than CUDA.

May 28, 2026 at 6:30 am
If AI is all that and a bag of potato chips, can't OpenAI just vibe up a new CUDA equivalent for their shiny new Cerebras chips? Will Cerebras chips be manufacturable at scale? The larger the chip die the higher chance it is affected by manufacturing defects. On a normal process they chop the wafer into many chip dies, so defects are localized to a smaller number of end products. As die size increases, yields decrease. Cerebras is playing a very silly game with yields.
