One Stupid Mistake RUINS Elaborate Bank Heist | Tales From the Bottle

Qxir | October 8, 2025

Just imagine – you spend months meticulously planning a bank robbery and the perfect getaway. Then you end up in jail anyway thanks to random circumstance.

“Anthony J. Curcio (born September 1, 1980) is an American author, public speaker, and convicted robber. In 2008, Curcio was responsible for one of the most elaborately planned armored car heists in U.S. history. He was eventually arrested and sentenced to six years in federal prison. Upon his release from prison he has devoted his life to working with youth in the field of drug abuse and crime prevention, speaking to students and athletes across the U.S. He has been featured in GQ, Esquire, 20/20, Fox News, NPR and NBC among others.”

"Why would a homeless man care? Certainly he has more important things to care about." *Cut to a shot of a man sitting in a tent with zero important things to care about* see that's the whole thing; having been homeless myself… you really get to worry or not worry about whatever you want. It could even be freeing if someone did it on their own terms, which people do all the time in various ways. But all sorts of people become homeless with all sorts of stories.

As of May 2024 he is back in trouble with the law and given one of the jokes in this video, the reason is as funny as it is dissappointing; faking Pokemon cards.

Decided to look this guy up to see what he was doing nowadays and… he's under investigation for fraudulently grading the value of Pokémon cards, resulting in $2 million dollars worth of losses for victims. So, uh, that line about Pokémon cards aged SPECTACULARLY 😬

He was convicted last year with an associate of defrauding victims of $2million in an elaborate trading card scheme. Dude is just another criminal sociopath.

As someone who was homeless for a year untill just a couple of months ago, no the homeless man had absolutely nothing else to do. The worse part of being homeless is the sheer boredom. We used to sit outside the shelter i was lucky enough to get into and just watch people. You better fricken believe if we saw something suspicious it was going to be the talk of the barrel fire lol. And most homeless people are just regular kind hearted people with really bad luck/bad decisions in their past. If we see someone doing something illegal that hurts innocent people hell yeah we are speaking up. Case in point, i had a friend in the shelter, the first month i was there we were buddies. At the end of the month he got approved for financial support to rent an apartment. That saturday was the last time i saw him. He said he was going to such and such street to stay with his girlfriend for the last couple days. Monday morning he was supposed to pick up his keys. The week after that he had a court date to get his daughter back. That sunday there was a young black man that got stabbed to death on that street….. i fucking knew it was him. I dont know how but when i saw all the cops and the closed road (it was 1 block from the shelter) my heart sank and i just had a feeling it was him. Monday comes around and its all over the news… September 2024 Jerry Lee Louis was arrested for the stabbing death of 31-year-old Michael Bialek-Gilliam aka Mizzy. RIP man, i miss you. <3
They caught the guy cause some homeless people were crowded around them when the fight started. Hope that old bastard rots in hell.

"That was a strangely attentive homeless person, and why would he rat him out to the police?"

The homeless are more attentive to other criminals and suspicious activity than most people believe. They also have strong motive to work with the police, since they can give them preferential treatment and money for doing so.

    Explaining the rough sleeper:

These people are usually EXTREMELY BORED. He probably noted down those weird details in the hope that it might turn out to be something interesting. He then handed it to police in the hope that they might help him (even if only a little bit) in return.

Why is it that all the ass holes get the loyal women. While I have never cheated, stolen, or abused anyone. But I can’t get one to stay around for more then a couple years. I give up

You completely misrepresented the homeless man. He accidentally touched the robbery “kit” before realizing what it was, and he knew that his fingerprints were now on it. He called the police so that they wouldn’t find his fingerprints on it and accuse him of the crime. He also got a cash reward for his participation that allowed him to buy a car and reunite with his children.
