Wanted to buy it until I saw how large that “U Disc” is. Won’t fit behind my TV due to the arrangement of the hdmi ports.

Cool but not including Asteroid Deluxe is a massive fail.

I wasn't going to comment. Was just going to thumbs us another great review, BUT… I see how you gave a subtle Gen X nod / Easter egg of your own in the video. Your first score was 'Conveniently' 2600! Lol leave it to Jon to see if we are paying attention! Bravo good sir, bravo! 👍

I like this, but I wish it was Space Duel.

The main reason why it doesn't save the high scores is because when the arcade machines were unplugged they would reset. it was never a big deal back in the day when they were actual arcade systems. I do see your point that it would be nice to have a save feature on these older arcade systems. but it wouldn't be authentic. lol😅

I have both the original Atari 2600 Asteroids game cartridge and a homebrew Atari 2600 Asteroids Arcade game cartridge, so I can go back and forth to whichever one that I choose to play. However if I ever want to play this new Fiss Asteroids plug-and-play than I can order it at the time.

I was hopeful seeing the original art. Alas, it's a port and not the original Asteroids; a "high quality interpretation". My guess is that vector emulation would require more resolution than a raster version could get away with, which would make it too expensive. Of course, "serious" players wouldn't be likely too happy with such small controls.

Eh…it's cute..but more of reimagining..not authentic…

Neat for collectors. Expensive for a single game device for non-collectors. God bless auto-save on exit for emulation… high scores preserved.

Nice little fun version of Asteroids. With so many buttons on the controller, I think it could do with being slightly bigger but that would be nitpicking. Great video and keep up the awesome work!

Is this a wind up? A 2k game (do you actually know what that means)? The Rom that they have made could fit a thousand old games on and you’re promoting one! Man I probably played space invaders in my pub before you were born. Get a grip. Stop promoting this rubbish.

I think that features such as saved hi score should be a given thing in these modern times.
Gives a reason to come back time and time again to play and and beat that hi score.
Lost opertunity

They still have the Fire and Thrust buttons reversed, I see. 🤦♂️ My brain will never be able to play this incorrect version properly since I am so used to Thrust on the left and Fire on the right in the arcade version.

The UFO did not crash into the asteroid, your shot wrapped around to the bottom of the screen.

That's not a shield, it's a Hyper Bubble, re: Hypernauts.

Is it vector? What's up with the sound?
Too many of these Retro releases are NOT actually Retro. Upsetting.

I would have rather played the game with a spinner.

If you want real arcade accuracy, then this unit works correctly. Remember, going to your local Arcade and finding that overnight, they had shut off and restarted your favorite arcade machine, so all the high scores were gone! Thus, it is truly arcade accurate 😋😉

The gameplay looks great, just wish the controller wasn’t so small and it saved scores. Otherwise looks really solid! Connectivity looks solid also!

Consumers really need to make it clear with their wallets that there is one thing that is a dealbreaker in the 2020s when it comes to retro gaming….high score saving is a MUST. It can't possibly cost that much more to implement it. And we will gladly pay the extra $1.27 that you'd have to pass along to us.
