Here’s a video checking in with everybody and talking about the music that has kept me going lately. Namely, Cameron Winter (Heavy Metal, Singles, live performances), Geese (3D Country, Getting Killed), Ryuichi Sakamoto (Thousand Knives & 1996), James Taylor (the hits), Evil Adeline (evil, baby, evil), Mei Semones (Animaru). Hope you like it.

Thank you for giving me the push to check out Cam & Geese just before Getting Killed dropped. I think it might be the album of my life, and his lyricism is completely electric. Hugely inspirational. Alfo Media, I love you. That’s what I’m saying.

I did the MJ Lenderman to Geese/Cameron Winters pipeline as well.
Getting Killed and Heavy Metal entered my life at the perfect time. And I have trouble listening to Manning Fireworks now because of the same event that made me relate to Geese and Cameron Winter ngl 🥲

My friend showed me James Taylor and I started going through his discography. Didn't make it much past Walking Man bc that song and album are perfect. Truly the musical equivalent of an easy conversation with an old friend.

Crest by Bladee and Ecco2k reignited my will to live post covid. I like that its basically entirely upbeat and goes into things like grief, temptation, and spiritual happiness. Its also just wholey unique, even in the draingang catalogue. It doesnt really sound like anything else in either Ecco2k or Bladees discography but it maintains their signature, if that makes sense. No trap beats or flows, just dream pop and utter hope for a better life and future. Ive always held such a soft spot for Crest that no other album has really come close to.

It feels like being hugged by the Virgin Mary herself

i knew geese before CW released his solo album, and 3D country took me a moment to fully get into before i loved it like i do now. but the first time i listened to HM, i felt my brain expand. i couldn't listen to anything else for months, and still have trouble not comparing every other piece of music with his lyricism. everything you say here i agree with. he's the best songwriter of this generation with nearly no contest. others are good and even great, but he's something else. i was at that Philly show at first unitarian church, and it was genuinely life-changing. i went alone and left the church with tears in my eyes and i was FAR from the only one. i heard a guy behind me say with incredible emotion and sincerity, "i think i need to call my grandma." thank you for the vid

i've only been listening to cameron winter/geese for the past week. no one besides him and car seat headrest have songwriting capabilities that make me actually connect to songs. anyways, im seeing cameron winter for a solo show next february and this video made me even more excited 🙂

i haven't been this obsessed with an artist or a band in years. I feel the same way now as I felt hearing the first note of Love Takes Miles in my busted ass offbrand airpod at work… replaying the song like 5 times and showing my coworker that I didn't even really talk to… going to the park immediately after my shift simply to sit down and listen to the album. didnt even know I could still be so passionate about music

Love Takes Miles is one of the few songs to make me cry in the past few years. Just beautiful song. 3D Country also is one of the best rock albums of the 21st century.
