According to Buddha, when we meditate, we feel our heartbeat. We’re connected to our ancestors, to our loved ones, to the world that came before us. Realize that you already have all the tools to reduce stress and anxiety. To lower your blood pressure and soothe that persistent pain. To increase self-awareness and compassion, both for yourself and for others. But how can all of this be possible just by breathing?

However different we may be, breathing is one thing we all know. Something we all love, and something we all take for granted. This video helped me realize the reality of my life is mostly in motion, and I can’t wait to change it.

Actually Buddha taught meditation not for Spiritual Awakening. From his 6 years of experiment, he figure out 4 noble truths and 8 noble path for attaining "Nibbana". The Pali word "Nibbana" means cessation of all sufferings but later after the death of Buddha, Brahmins people mistranslated word "Nibbana" into Sanskrit word "Nirvana" and so on it's meaning also changed that is related to spiritual awakening. And in English, it was changed into "Enlightenment"
What I mean is in core Buddhism teaching, there is no concept of spirit/soul, reincarnation, heaven & hell. If you find any of these in Buddhism, please know that it is not core teaching of Buddha and added or manipulated later by other people, especially Brahmins of India to show Buddhism as a part of Hinduism. But in reality it's not but Hinduism is diformity of Vajrayana Buddhism.

This is a stellar synthesis of meditation but the neuroscience you've referred to has been expressed inaccurately. You correctly pointed out the associated regions of the DMN but you didn't articulate its function correctly. The DMN is predominantly active when the brain isn't experiencing an intense cognitive load, this can be generally described as the mind wandering when a demanding task is not present. The DMN is essential when it comes to psychologically articulating our self perception and worldview but it often manifests as a crutch for many because they don't have the capabilities to consciously intervene with the assertions it's making. This is why meditation has been shown to decrease DMN activation, as our ability to reflexively halt spiralling thoughts grows the DMN becomes less salient as an underpinning of our everyday thinking styles.

I hate it for being just out of reach, for being just outside of my abilities, for me being broken just the way for my loved ones to not understand, I want to be alone to achieve peace but I cannot accomplish this alone. I'm so tired and want to rest but I'm so restless from these disrupting nightmares…

I tried to meditate for a period of time, I did nothing more than focus to my breath for 10 mins each day, but somehow instead of being mindful in my daily life i felt something is missing from me and that part is blank, so then i quit meditation.
Idk why I had that experience, I honestly don't see meditation as a bad thing to do. I might had done something wrong but I just didn't realize what it is.

Yes meditation helps you to get a clearer view on yourself.
It helps you to find the right balance, it's best to meditate right after waking up to get that level of mindfullness back after a strong period of rest.
