I've had the biggest crush on this woman for so many years. She's a real comedic force…reminds me of Jonathan Winters in a sense. Fearlessly quirky. Love her.

I saw her for the third time about 3 or 4 years ago at landmark comedy works in centennial colorado. She was so on fire, just absolute stream of consciousness flowing from her mouth so much so that it was hard to keep up or even understand where she was at. My date wasn't intelligent enough to even know what she was saying, and it made me realize I needed to dump him. Thanks,Maria!

This podcast idea is genius brilliant I wonder if it was my idea. I've done some YouTube producing and writing music.
Neal looks like somebody in my family. Are you enjoying this?

Maria was the first stand-up that I ever became a fan of and it's been lifelong. Now I have so many comedians that I love but she'll always have a special place to me.

One time I called Noam Chomsky on call-in radio show to ask him a responsibility question. I have it on tape. In OCD recovery, it's so damn funny to me now.

I mean I like Doug Stanhope, but having been to AA, people in AA commonly refer to booze having been their higher power when drinking, or a relationship, usually preceding a relapse. My favorite bit on AA is from Norm Macdonalds 'Me Doing Standup'.

I love that Maria talked about seeing people who are comedians ( or in the spotlight, famous) and going through addiction and no one says anything about it…I thought that about Amy Winehouse.

Gee, I would have loved to hear her responses. Another interview where the interviewer seems to ask questions so he can give his own answers

    She’s so great

I like Neal's response to his friend's casual drop of chop suey side. As someone who struggles with depression, i wish i could just cry in the corner a little bit, and people would just go about their day and not bother me or make it weird. Like, just let me get this out. I'll keep working. It'll be over soon. Thanks.
The shame and secrecy adds to the negative feelings piling up.

"I was gonna pencil in my unaliving for this weekend, but there's a potluck and my cat's bath time already scheduled, so I'll just put it off til my next moment of existenial dread"

I’m bi-polar as well and when folks ask what type of music do I write, I’ll sometimes say “sappy sad sack of shit stuff.” Even when I write a more upbeat sounding compositions the lyrics will usually come off as a total bummer. lol
