Lost Dog Street Band, “September Doves,” // GemsOnVHS™

GemsOnVHS | May 8, 2026

A little trip with Lost Dog street band to a beautiful tree in Madison, TN near Nashville. It was the backyard of our mutual friend, Dan from Black Matter Mastering. They played a little tune and broke our hearts like always.

You can stream Lost Dog’s tunes on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/artist/6tkrc…) and all other streaming platforms. Be sure to catch them on tour this summer. Check out the tour dates at https://www.lostdogstreetband.com/.

One of the greatest songwriters of all time. And Ashley Mae accents everything perfectly ever time. Going see them in Carrboro , NC. I 3rd time literally like every single song. 3rd and I'm mostly a huge Hendrix Sabbath, grunge, Nu Metal, ol skool Gangsta Rap GenX kind guy 😂 57 yrs.old. but this guys song talk to me they tell my life story. And Ben's been through it all.

Living just outside of ne philly and graduating in 07 my class was directly in the bullseye of the opiate epidemic and I lost about 15 people I would have truly called close friends lost countless others who I was knew on a friendly basis. It's unbelievable. My whole generation just up and turned to ghosts. Like there was another huge war only there wasn't and so with that comes no memorials, no reading the honor of the fallen at ballgames. No getting to remember them properly because "they did it to themselves" they "knew his dangerous it was" it was their fault so I'm not allowed to talk about how much I miss them or how they were good guys cause they truth is they were all just kids and most of them had good hearts and were good people. I hate when people say "it's such a shame" there's no shame. Not when somehow there were enough oxys on the street to get thousands of us high everyday. A drug like Xanax by comparison was difficult to build a habit cause u had to know several people selling part of their script every month. Oxys seemed like they were everywhere and then one day they pulled the rug out and it was either $100 a day on 30's or heroin and with Kensington less then a half hour away that's where most of us went. It's not a shame. It was on purpose. Pharmaceutical companies lobbied Congress to change regulations then they lied to doctors who absolutely should have known better like they actually believed this opiate based drug was less addictive or even non addictive pushing them to prescribe more to raise the strength of prescription…. But we were the ones at fault. It's our shame right? We were kids and nobody helped us. Nobody intervened even though they knew it would doubtlessly kill young Americans… They were everywhere. I went to Catholic school and they were easier to find in school then when it let out. We were more than taken advantage of we were turned into ghosts for profit and now I can't even bring up my best friend without someone saying well he know how dangerous it was. And those of us that made it through can't even see each other without it being a melencholy affair drinking to their memory and tears for the senseless loss of good young men. I miss them all dearly. I hate that our country allowed the conditions for such a perfect storm of conditions to do what they did. I'm disappointed in my country

Been listening for 5 years! It’s November 2025
My husband and I went to see this band in Chattanooga Tennessee 2022, I think. Husband passed from overdose in 2-2024. He loved this man. He cried every time he listened to him. Thank you ❤

Remember when you didn't have this cell phone in your hand?
It brought me here to listen to this beautiful music don't get me wrong. This song and many of these "GemsOnVHS" provide a certain feeling of nostalgia and beneficial simplicity.
