Killers of the Flower Moon was a very ugly film. Probably technically proficient but the story telling sucked.

Where do they find all these goofy looking actors for 1910-1920 period pieces?

Legends of the Fall was a Drama based about the same time and the people were beautiful.

    KotFM was simply ugly.

Wasn’t impressed and I think Scorsese was way too indulgent in the story telling of the story telling, like that bizarre radio show ending.

I liked how the actors spoke Osage the way white people would, that seemed legit. The non Osage native actors did o.k., but the nasal and guttural sounds seemed weak. That being said, most modern Osage speakers dont have that cadenced and almost musical speach pattern the old folks had back then. My uncle swears the old language died and they dont sound anything like our grandfathers did, but says its important to learn anyway because thats how our people are teaching the kids today.

You're right about who they would have cast 15 years ago. That was funny. I wanted to see modern Osage people too, I know they spent a lot of time out there in the community.

I haven't watched the film…yet. I, too, am tired of our stories being told by outsiders. It's been proven that stories told by our people – for our people do sell. I would like to see our stories move forward past 1940.
