Joshua Quimby on the Mckay’s mega roadtrip, “Big Hot Dogs” // GemsOnVHS™

There’s a special place in my heart for three things. 1, getting a deal. 2, getting that deal on a used item. 3, music. So when McKay’s (a southern business that buys/sells/trades on games, movies, books and music) offered $800 in store credit to anyone who went to EVERY location (five of them in 2 states) in one day, I accepted the mission. I called Joshua Quimby, because I knew he didn’t have a job. We went on the journey together, and made it to tell the tale. I’m not sure what he has spent his fortune on, but i’ve bought a lot of Sega Dreamcast parts to fix.

Seriously though, Josh is a good dude and i’ve loved watching him grow with his music over the past couple years. I’ve invited him on a few weird things and he always says yes. I don’t know why, but I appreciate it. He has some incredible covers of Metallica and others, and his originals are always rippin.

Quimby is the man. He played his tune “Big Hot Dog”. He had this to say about the journey;
“I had a blast travelling from Mckay’s to Mckay’s with Anthony and co., and an even better time blowing all $800 in store-credit like a week later on bullshit I don’t need. ‘Big Hot Dogs’ certainly isn’t close to my best song, but what’s better than life’s simple pleasures after a sweaty 2-day road trip? And there was a hot dog truck right out front of the last location?? Couldn’t have been more perfect.”
