Jimmy Carr's advice for dealing with childhood trauma is to go to Saudi Arabia and do comedy for the Royal Family in exchange for a crapload of blood money. Cash, after all, soothes everything around me. Don't lose your head!

Over-correction is necessary for the system to actually change. The correction needs to insist upon itself in order for any of it to be adopted as the new norm. That’s why I’m never worried about a sociopolitical over-correction

51:20 I had my first panic attack at 12 years old. In public, at an outdoor venue show, surrounded by 100,000 strangers. I literally just had to lie down on the ground as people passed and stared with concern at me. I imagine a 12 year old kid with abject terror on his face gripping his torso and hitting the ground was probably quite the sight.

let's not forget, that with the original marshmallow test, they didn't account for other influences, but the later repeats of the test, where they did, it turned out it was actually the parent's income that significantly predicted withheld gratification, and also future success, which can be explained by the fact that poorer families can't keep promises often, and it teaches kids to get what they can
