Hah! When he opens to the Rock Island cover at about 7:25, the story opposite that is my own tale about how the Grammy win introduced me to the band for the first time ever. And, at age 15, changed my life forever. That's me in the pic standing by the drums which is one of the things I took up after hearing Tull.

First saw Tull for Passion Play tour. They were great. I think the Songs from the Wood tour was my favourite. Amazing.

Looks like a "must buy" for me. I first heard them when my friend's big brother had This Was, Stand Up, and Benefit. Down in Texas, JT was already popular by 1971. My friend and I wore out an 8-track of Passion Play almost daily. I finally saw them in 1976, 78, 80, 93, and 2017

Woulda been bout 77, I asked my girlfriend to come see this cool band.
She misheard me & said: I've got no interest in seeing a band called:
"Death Road Toll"🤣

Ian does seem to like flogging expensive hardback books nowadays doesn’t he?
Wondering whether Martin Barre has contributed anything this time.

You didn’t say if the Main Jethro Tull musician other then Autocrat Anderson, Martin Lancelot Barre is interviewed or has been erased from Tull as Anderson seems to have done.
So has Martin been Interviewed?
I will buy it of course as being an Old Fart I bought This Was when it was released, Awesomeness 😋

I was a bit late to the Jethro Tull party. I didn't really get into them until Crest of a Knave. I was familiar with the songs that were popular on the radio and I'd heard Iron Maiden's version of "Cross Eyed Mary." However, when Crest of a Knave came out, I couldn't get enough of that album. I saw the 20th anniversary tour in the summer of 1988 in Irvine, Ca. The sound was horrible, sadly. They opened with "Too Old To Rock and Roll" and Ian Anderson was wheeled out in a wheelchair. That was 34 years ago!! He really is the consummate front man. I could never take my eyes off him, playing the flute on one leg, and wearing a cod piece–what's not to love! I did see them in 89 or 90 on the Rock Island tour at a better venue. Much better sound. I'm looking forward to the book.

This looks like a treasure trove of fun. I would love to read it. Agree with you that Crest of a Knave is a fantastic album. In my top 5 right behind the Songs From The Wood, Heavy Horses, Songs From The Wood and yes Under Wraps.
