Will we ever see deluxe editions of those marvellous, but often overlooked, albums by Ian Anderson, "The Secret Language of Birds" and "Divinities: Twelve Dances with God"? Superb music.

I think this is the second worst Jethro Tull album ever (Under Wraps is the worst, and I have the box set). I really don't get why "Crest of a Knave", "Rock Island", "Catfish Rising" and "Roots To Branches" boxsets weren't released before this one…I will buy them in the right chronological order, I have all the box sets released to this day (except for the X-mas one, total bull crap, and I have the regular CD).

adding to the original long album, we have about 20 songs, enough for a fine double album. it sounds gteat! The best 10 -12 songs would mad a very nice album indeed. I Like the fact that Ian is not constrained by a "concept". The interplay of the instruments is wonderful.

I saw them for the 4th and final time during the tour for this album. The show was great, and the setlist superb, albeit with Ian's often strained vocals. Still a good show overall, but I knew that would probably be my last Tull show. He did a great job on the opener "My Sunday Feeling", and "Hunt By Numbers" comes to mind as a standout track!

Have the box and vinyl on order; not my favourite Tull album by a long stretch, but I do give it the occasional spin. Incidentally, The Christmas Album has already been rereleased in media book/Soord remix form as Fresh Snow At Christmas in 2024. For me this is the last 'true' Tull album. I do still follow Ian's work, and quite enjoyed Homo Erraticus and Curious Ruminant. The recent vinyl of Secret Language Of Birds was also nice addition to the collection. Saw Ian most recently in Tokyo on the TAAB 1&2 tour, about 30 years since the first time – good show; the additional singer (with the cane) was a good move!

The Box Set looks good on the shelf with the others but the music is only in parts really good. On the positive side are Spiral, Wicked Windows, Hunt By Numbers, El Nino, Bends Like A Willow and Far Alaska. The negative are Dot Com, AWOL, Nothing @ All, Black Mamba. Average songs are The Dog-Ear Years and A Gift Of Roses. But what do i think about Hot Mango Flush and Mango Surprise? The music were written by Martin Barre and is not typical Jethro Tull and it is a fresh breath in the air but you must forget the "singing/rapping" which is awful.
From the few Bonus Tracks the Single B-Side It All Trickles Down ist very good and so is Pipes (Close To You) and Sad Suit. Stigmata looks like that Ian Anderson added new vocals with his current voice – not good and the instrumentals Aborted Soliloquy and Recollection No.5 are redundant.

Always liked this album – Hot Mango Flush might be a silly track but it does have a catchy melody.
For me, I’d rate Dot Com over Catfish Rising and on par with Rock Island.
Nice balanced video, always enjoyed your material. Cheers
