there's this anime called Chobits and the PCs have been pretty much turned into human shaped robots.

it just occurred to me on this rewatch… the brand name… the pin design… the lack of screen… this thing is supposed to be a less engaging version of your phone. like its existence is acknowledging how isolating staring at a screen for hours at a time can be. the marketing really is atrocious though because it’s literally exactly the same as all the AI products attempting to further isolate us from our peers and loved ones (e.g. the bella ramsey ads)
