Stanford neuroscientist Andrew Huberman, a man who has spent his career studying neural circuits, explains why he prays every single night, why he believes in God, and why faith made his life dramatically better.
The conversation begins with Steven describing his DMT experience and the realisation that a small inhale of smoke could completely alter his perception of reality, which led him to conclude that material reality is essentially chemistry. Huberman agrees, up to a point. He explains that biology is largely compartmentalised chemistry, and that there are only two ways to change brain function: mechanical forces (breathing, massage, physical sensation) and chemical ones (pharmacology, food, our own neurochemicals). But he argues that this framing, while useful, leaves something out.

At 2:29, I'd strongly disagree. The metaphysical/spiritual can change our physical reality as well.
Of course, I'm Christian. I 100% believe the miracles of Christ. That all things were spoke into existence (not in English of course, but by the Word of God).
When I know what that means, truly, as I am truly known, I believe it will affect my physiology (this is neither, mechanical, nor chemical). No?

I would be careful to simplify it as ”this is just it”…. No there are still things we do not fully understand. In fact, the more I read the more I find out there are a lot we do not really understand…

Steven when are you going to invite a muslim scholar on for once? I would highly recommend Omar Suleiman. It would make for interesting conversation also add more dynamic to the creator/God discourse. You can't dismiss islamic thought and discourse as 2 billion humans follow the faith.

Found a lot of these perspectives/understandings in Islam. Good is good ❤. Great podcast clip, tons of knowledge and insight.
In multiple places in the Quran, God explains that human eyes and physical forms cannot bear or comprehend the direct divine manifestation of Him in the earthly realm.
Food for thought. Our eyes can’t even handle the sun. Do you expect our eyes to be able to handle seeing our Creator… the Creator of the sun.

All are available naturally and should be kept as a natural tool but greed has taken control and only those who can afford it benifits.
We should be able to grow and use what GOD has given us.
They have deliberately hidden the teachings of our ancient ancestors including Jesus about the mind body and soul Trinity and how the power of the body combined with natural medicines can defeat any illness.
All in the name of greed.
You should never have to synthesise what is available naturally.
No matter how close on a molecular and chemical level once you have taken it from its natural environment and added chemicals it will never be the same and can do more harm than good.
As we all know the pharmaceutical industry and the medical industry are both corrupt and specifically designed to feed one another.
