I Think Mötley Crüe Is Finished

The Hair Metal Guru | July 5, 2026

Mötley Crüe returned to the stage on July 4th in Winnipeg, but after watching the footage, I came away with one overwhelming thought… I think it’s over.

Look, I’ve been pretty vocal about my issues with Motley over the years… but this was bad. REALLY BAD. Vince Neil looked like he was struggling throughout the performance, and it was honestly difficult to watch. In this video, I share my reaction to the concert and explain why I believe Mötley Crüe may have reached the end of the road.

What do you think? Is this just one bad show, or is it time for Mötley Crüe to call it a career? Let me know in the comments.

Vince Neil has a Networth as of 2026 of $50 Million, I doubt any of them Need the Money… Although I'm still not Happy with how Things Ended with Mick Mars, But At one point or another Both Tommy Lee and Vince Neil Were Replaced out of Mötley Crüe, Except for Nikki Sixx because Mötley Crüe is Nikki Sixx's Band, It will come Full Circle again, it has to in some way or another, Just Who know's How, I Believe with John 5 Taking Micks Spot, This "New Mötley Crüe" we are seeing are Just out there Playing there Songs, and Trying to Have a Good Time, and a Good Time with there Fans (The one's who will Still Listen). They Could Lower Ticket Prices Yes, But I think it's out of there Control at this Point and Ticket Master is To Blame, People will Still Go and See some of these Hair Metal Bands From the past for Nostalgia Ultimately… People/Bands like David Lee Roth-W.A.S.P. Ect, Although they may not sound as they Did in the 80's, There is still a Market out there for these Bands, Just think Though when some of these Larger than Life Bands Officially do retire at some point, Everyone Might look back on these days and Think Mabey they just should have seen them, Because when these Bands are all officially gone and not Touring anymore (In my Opinion they will be Missed Greatly) Also I don't believe they are using Backing Tracks at all Based on Footage and Vince Neil's Raw Voice, You can even hear how Clean John 5's Guitar Playing is Unlike how Aggressive Mick's used to be, If they were Really using Backing Tracks Vince would sound as he did in 1983 and we would Know. 🤘

I saw them in 2005 and in 2015, and I told myself that would be the last time I would go see them. If I want a Motley fix I will just put on a dvd or listen to a record or cd.

In my mind, Motley Crue ended December 31st 2015. They went out perfectly as legends, released their final concert on DVD, and Vince gave it a great effort! No drama, no corporate bullcrap, their last song was All Bad Things, it was a great way to go out! If they stayed retired like they said they would've, none of this crap with Mick Mars would've happened, that awful EP would never have been made, and their legacy would've been solidified with the young generation with The Dirt. Seeing Vince propped up like this isn't funny anymore. It's genuinely heartbreaking, seeing him struggle like this…he's been through so much…

Ive seen motley twice. Once in 98 at the Taft in Cincinnati and then 2006 in Dayton. Both shows were great and vince was on point. Its sad to see this. I love the crue and im grateful I was able to see them before this. Its time to go.

I’ve been a Crue fan since 81 & I said my goodbyes 2015. They ended it all & never to tour again but then a comeback 🙈
I totally agree with you that quit for the sake of your health. As a Crue fan I am sad to see this 🙊🙉🙈

Here's my input on this I Love MOTLEY CRUE I'm a real Big huge fan a 100% through & through same thing for Vince Neil but I seriously think that MOTLEY CRUE really needs to get John Corabi back in the band so that MOTLEY CRUE can continue on and No I'm not shitting on Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx/John 5 Vince Neil just needs to retire now because it seems like he's not able to sing/perform like used to like I said I'm a Big huge MOTLEY CRUE fan a 100% through & through forever.. & Nobody better call Anthony Bryant/Hair Metal Guru out on this neither because that would be rude/wrong on whoever's part I'm real Big huge fan, follower/supporter a 100% of Anthony – A.K.A Hair Metal Guru my cool, kick ass brother from another mother now & forever from yours truly Chris '' PartyRocker '' Porter – MOTLEY CRUE & Hair Metal Guru…. Forever..

It sucks, people want what used to be…but I saw the Theatre of Pain tour in '85 and Vince wasn't great even then. Having said that, let's be 💯 consistent then and be just as critical of, say, the Kiss American flag shirt you're wearing? Totally understand the criticism but nobody can pick and choose legitimacy and accountability over there and not over here. Paul Stanley lip syncing and many other bands sucking vocally. Hold everyone (singers, bands, governments) to a reasonable standard or just say fuck it and it is what it is.

I agree, time to go Motley Crue 😢 you guys were great in the 80’s ❤ but now the band is not the same. Older and health issues, Vince should retire and take it easy. Remember the good old days.❤

When I saw they were touring this year, I said I would only go if I got free tickets. We'll I won free tickets from the local radio station. I'll be going to see them late next month. I'm mainly going to see Extreme and Tesla. I'll stick around for a song or two from Motley Crue just to be able to say I've seen them live, but will be leaving early.

Vince needs to retire, for his own sake! Why put on a crap show for the audience you claim to love! Vince cannot do it anymore! Motley needs to retire or find a new singer!

The saddest part about this shitshow is that John Lowery joined this traveling roadside circus. I've lost all respect for him. I know he's real good friends with Dikki Suxx, but c'mon dude.

Mötley Crüe should retire completely all members. These guys are in their 60s. They’ve made enough money I mean how much money do you have to make they need to go off in the sunset along with David Lee Roth as well! They are stealing money from people who are buying these tickets expecting a good show.

DAMN! As a diehard 80s metal fan you are absolutely RIGHT! My fave band from that era is RATT. Seen one of their last performances 2021 😢& was floored at Stephan Pearcy’s vocals. He beat cancer but that took a toll on him being able to perform like in their heyday. He literally was just talking the words people. 😢 it was sad & really difficult to watch because this was and still is my BADASS band! I just remember telling myself it’s over, we had our era, our fun and it’s ok. Still have the memories of being this KRAZY African American kid in Topeka, Kansas who got to see this band live first time on the RATT/Poison tour back in the late 80s. Also, seeing them while serving in the Navy, San Diego, CA in the early 90s. I treasure those GREAT memories. Seeing your clips of Vince was shocking and threw me back to Ratt’s last shows. Motley wasn’t my fave but in their heyday they were BADASS live. Look, a lot of these older bands, artists can do what they want & im not telling people not to go to their shows but I believe you’re right at some point we all have to know when to hang it up. There are exceptions of artists going all the way to their death bed performing and still bringing that fire but those are few. I listen to all types of music with Metal and hip hop being my faves seen Janet Jackson last year for the first time and she was able to still bring that fire. Seen Bobby Brown recently and walked out mid show, im sorry but imho he needs to hang it up. I realize musicians get old but it’s so hard to watch some of these artists. Had tix to see Heart a couple years ago but show got cancel due to Ann Wilson health issues same with a Madonna show we were going to see here in Vegas. I wish these guys the best but i totally agree. Rock on, rock on peeps 🤘🏾😎🤘🏾80s FOREVER!

Dude, I hate to say it, but you're right. I went to hell with the devil, theater of pain, girls girls girls tours. They were amazing.
A lot of our beloved bands from the 80's, early 90's should just stop and end it while the fans remember them in when they ruled the genre.
I definitely will continue to love them from the beginning and not where it ended.

Vince has a huge house in Tennessee, horses, cars and his bad habits. He has a spending problem and needs the money. Nikki gets most of the writing credits, and Tommy is the oldest teenager alive

It’s been done for a long time for Vince and the Crue.. But, as long as people go to see it and the promoter can make a dollar they’re going to keep throwing them out there. I’ve said that the Tesla & Extreme show up here is struggling selling tickets, I’m going to Wednesday 13 that night, there are other, better options to spend your money on. I want to see Tesla again but not on that bill and if I can go see Wednesday on the same night. It’s way over after these clips circulate, and deservedly so..

I love their albums and I'm in the mist of covering the entire shout at the devil album in guitar… I'm grateful for their music, but damn they should of called it quits in the final tour. When they came back, the whole crap with Mick happened, and vince can't keep up anymore. Vince should take care of his health, being the songer is the thoughest job in the band. You can buy new gear but you only have one body.

I can't believe I am actually going to say this because I despise elements of this band; their "shows" and it being part of a time that is long gone. Yelling "show us your tits" as Tommy Lee did in the early 2000s did not go over well, but they kept at it. Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx have also been exposed for their heinous treatment of women. Mick Mars was done dirty by the band. I feel bad that they are still playing after being over for so long. Mostly, I feel bad that Mars was done dirty, and Vince Neil keeps singing when he's not healthy enough to keep at it like he used to. They have a few great songs, but otherwise it seems like they are still playing because they need the cash. Yikes.

You are 1000 percent accurate of your assessment on this. Still asking for hard working fans’ money and this is the product you’re producing is not right. It’s almost criminal. I just feel bad for Motley Crue that they are going to be blown away by Extreme opening up for them every night of this upcoming tour.

It's been over a long time. I have Tix to 3 upcoming fall shows. Sept is Maiden. Oct is Rush and Nov Geoff Tate. I absolutely just loved Nikki. Just loved him to death. ….. Until he did what he did to Mick. I have seen them and the last time I was slated to see was June of 22 on Stadium tour. It torrentially down poured in DC and they pushed the show so late I said to my friend let's go. We saw Def Lepp which were excellent. I said my goodbyes to my love for Nikki like 3 yrs ago. You get no hate from me Guru.

Motley Crue has always sucked ass but the dog shit that they’ve been doing for the last 2 decades is criminally bad! Anyone claiming that Motley Crue is still good or decent should have their heads checked.

Guru-One of your first members when Patrick would name new members! Like Patrick says, definitely best channel on the internet. I watch pretty much all content and look forward to Monday interviews and Friday's album roundtable and everything else. Gotta disagree to a degree with you at least. Since they retired at end of 18 month "farewell" 11 years ago they were cooked and though they were in their 50s, young, I was okay with the farewell. It didn't surprise me when they came back. I think once it wasn't the original four w/Mick it was time to call it a day after 2022. Nikki is not that into Crue, 18 years since SOLA and I love and was pleasantly surprised about the setlist for this tour, but there's nothing past 91. I wanted to say this set w/no cover medley, but 3 songs instead. Great setlist!!! Was shocked Nikki mixed it up! I think when they have their 20-year anniversary Carnival of Sins ready for the tour, unlike last night it will be received much better. They'll have good looking stage outfits, and I had heard plenty of pyro, the more pyro and circus stuff, takes away from Vince's struggles. They do all that it's all good. Vince, I love him but last night wasn't worse than last year's Vegas residency or even "stadium tour" before strokes. Hope Crue kill it out there know I'll have fun.

Its sad if you have defend your position because if fans or band members think that Vinces performances are ok, are either deaf or part of the problem. Vince has all the resources to get in shape, physically and vocally. And if he had to retire, hes not wondering where his next check is coming from.

Vince singing is so terrible. Why spend hard earn money on terrible singing. New singer or retire. Saw them last with Def Leppard several years ago. Went for Leppard. Fans deserve top form by a complete band
