How We Might Be Living In Other Dimensions Without Knowing – A Neil deGrasse Tyson Visualization

Pursuit of Wonder | November 24, 2025

In a 2017 interview, Neil deGrasse Tyson provides an incredible visual illustration to the concept of multidimensional phenomena. In which, he compares our inability to comprehend beyond the third dimension to that of an ant being incapable of understanding that something is placed above it. Truly fascinating to consider the limits of consciousness and what might lie beyond it. We found this so compelling, we decided to make a short film to help further visually demonstrate his beautiful explanation.

This video is transformative in nature and is intended for educational purposes. Therefore, it falls under fair use.

I experience this all the time. Notice how people, places, and things appear, dissappear and sometimes cease to exist. Our brains store these things in a type of cache (modes and routines) if and when they reappear. Oh by the way when I hear the keys at the front door of our apartment at a certain time of day and how it sounds , some how I know it's my girlfriend coming home.

This is a highly inaccurate description. We are aware of living in four dimensions which include time. If we lived in only three dimensions, then our closet would be stuffed with everything that ever existed in that space and will ever exist in that space infinitely… including such things as other people, dinosaurs, magma, etc. Time (fourth dimension) gives breathing room to the third dimension by only revealing the present.

The problem with this is that nothing exists in the second dimension on its own. If it did we would be able to see it everything is three dimensional. Even a piece of paper and an ant exist in the third dimension

How did this guy become the Great Explainer? He is like a walking episode of the Big Bang Theory. M'K…but he still thinks space time is the fourth dimension in every other 'splain a thon

So many rude attempts attempts at humor fail to reach any dimension. Bottom line is the scientific world allows researchers and writers to do nothing with their time but think and get paid tons of money for it. while other people are homeless, below the poverty level and such. dimensions such as the 4th through nth the bottom line is why should people get paid to "research" when conspiracy theorists do it for fun without being paid…all about dimensions we'll never get to…while arguably those who run the world do

The 4th dimension is time. It co-exists with the three spacial dimensions and is not a 'higher dimension'. The 2-D papers are actually 3-D and exist in the 4th dimension. You don't need a portal to exist in time. It's a basic frame of reference.

Fourth dimension has a spacetime storage device, the things we manifest in 3d are already existing in 4d just we are manifesting and experiencing in our simulation world, for eg the photos & movies we watch from a HD of a pc or a clouds storage, as we can access them on the monitor when we want to,but in reality they exist in a binary code or bytes.
