I had horrible opinion on John.
I did not like him but as i watched more and more (me and my boyfriend kept thebar rescue channel , on
pluto, on 24/7 whenever our bedroom tv was on for waaay too long..like a ridiculous length of time and he’s actually a very caring, thoughtful, very empathetic and surprisingly enough, a gentle souled man. Almost wish he was my uncle kus he don’t play & issh either and i have very little self discipline so i could use some of whatever he got lol paternal figure type energy.

Jon Taffer is spiteful. If he doesn't understand the culture, community or background then it doesn't matter and he'll jentrtrify it sucking the soul out of everything. Then again he claims businesses don't have a culture or soul, they're only meant to make a profit. Pirate one, the location and how extreme theme for area was issue, could have toned it down to be a Caribbean theme being less abbrassive to compromise with original vision not do a 180 sterilizing it into "Corporate Bar".

i think bar rescue also does what I call a "spiteful makeover" sometimes. Gordon's done this a couple times as well but Jon sometimes seems to deliberately give owners he doesn't like bars that they'll hate or that will fail. the steampunk bar in austin felt like an example of this

1. John could have just told Piratz to move location. I can't blame them for being mad about the rebranding.
2. Andy King looks like a young Tobey McGuire.
3. John really missed an opportunity to change his last name to Tavern.
4. I love the backwards percent signs when Gabi says "I'm going to write backwards" thinking everything will show up correctly on the recording.
5. "Karen–I know" killed me. Gabi knew what we were all immediately thinking.
