How To Live Like You’re Dying

It seems that underneath our modern and somewhat glamorized understanding of what it means to live like we’re dying, lie much more sober and pragmatic questions that we rarely ever take the time to ask ourselves. If you only had just one week left here on Earth, what would you cherish the most?

I live in a place where I have been banned go out on country walks and now use a hand fan after a devastating seizure. Im dying of anorexia and dont really care. My nephew got his puzzle and I wrote my will. Im in hospital for crashing blood pressure and I have no wish to ever return again as im badly treated as im not living anymore. The way I'm being treated is wrong.

Maybe the key (in terms of treating people) is not to live like you're dying but to live like the people you are closest to and value most are dying, as if it's their last day and not yours, and they don't know this but you do. Not too in depth obviously but thinking about it you would treat them so much better than you would on any other normal day. You would want them to smile, enjoy your presence, laugh, get excited, feel joy, cause they don't know this but you do, they're living their last day today and you would want your last moments with them to be amazing for them and for you, and so you would treat them with so much more happy pure loving emotion than you would of on a normal day/mindset. Perception is incredibly powerful and if you can find this mindset regularly enough and bring that level of joy and happiness to the moments you live with people you would surely feel incredibly happy yourself and your relationships with those you love would flourish. Just a random thought while watching the vid and then reading comments…..

….Watched a vid earlier abt a Navy Seal who goes after terrorists or very bad people and he would frame those he needs to kill as malfunctioning robots, that he doesn't care why this person does that they do or what made the person do what they do but just that they are malfunctioning robots and they need to be switched off and just by changing your perspective into that mindset it's suddenly so much easier to kill someone and removes all the hatred you might feel for the person you are abt to kill and instead it's just as simple as a malfunctioning robot which needs to be switched off. That just highlighted the power of perspective to me and how you can gain incredible control and power over situations if you find the right perspective to put them in.

I've been fighting my cancer for 7 years now , my cancer is called Multiple myeloma, it's a blood cancer that destroys your bones, and I feel my time is running out really fast, honestly I'm scared, I go to sleep at night thinking what will happen when my eyes finally close forever. 😢 it's then that you regret working so hard for so little, the time u lost with loved ones u can't get back. It's terrifying knowing the end is so close. I tell all of u. Enjoy life, put aside the petty things, call ur mom or dad, sister, brother, friend and tell them how much u love them, or just call them to hear there voice on the phone or better yet. Pay them a visit, give them a big hug and tell them how much u miss and love them, take a walk in the park or beach, go see a good movie with someone special. Buy yourself something nice, go for nice walks alone or again with someone close, do things that make you feel good, volunteer to help animals or other fighters like yourself. But stay away from all the petty stuff, dying is very scary. At least for me it is, but I can't stop it, I just hope I wake up again somewhere nice and peaceful, I hope that the other side there is good , not evil. I hope u all live your lives to the fullest as life goes by so so fast, it's almost unfair. Reach out to ur family, make that simple call to ur loved ones and tell them u love them, u will thank me for it. May god bless u all.😢

Thank you for this, this made me reflect very deep on many things. A lot of stress lately, haven't been breathing from the stomach for a long while. Wrote some things up and put in my door actually. Thank you man

Read my other comments on this channel…. I've died a handful of times over the course of my time here in this body. I know deep in my body I'm not going to live to see triple digits and I wouldn't WANT to live to see triple digits with my memonries and with body in this condition at TWENTY years old, I just cannot bear the feeling of the reality knowing that it's just going to keep getting worse as I progress through time in this body. As this is so however I suppose that makes sense why I am so comfortable talking about and asking other people these questions so casually. Beautiful demonstration of the thoughts of a person that is on the verge of making their bodies another statistic. I'm happy and comfortable loving life as it is beautiful and still am weak to hardship as I was born in to it and know how to navigate my mind through it… not so well how to fight it.

I feel sorry more for the animals that we eat like cows pig chicken goats they have no choice but to be killed rigth at the moment they were born that's why IAM vegan. While humans only think of themselves and their narccistic behavior like humans are the only important animals in this world ? You seem to fail to realize that are you narccistic YouTube creator? Probably most of you will say ohh a vegan is trying to pause her beliefs on us while you people have no moral perception how animals suffer just by your hands and eating animals corpse meat I just wish all humans become extinct

I always thought that “live like you’re dying” meant just living your life the best you can and getting the most of it. You know… do a bunch of the things we’re always afraid to do for whatever reason. No regrets. Because as far as I’m concerned, we only live one life, so we should make the most of it. And sure, technically speaking, nothing that happens in our lives will matter after death (unless you believe in an afterlife), but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t live it to the fullest. Actually, it gives you more of a reason to. Because the odds of you existing are next to nothing. The chances of your parents meeting… certain parts of their DNA mixing in just the right way to make you. This is the one thing that makes me think everyone is just really special and unique. So yeah! Basically have fun with your life while you can, before it’s too late and you regret not doing things. This is my take on “live like you’re dying”.

Death is like being approached by the ol Lone Ranger. When within reach, dare to pull his mask off. He’ll thank you for your courage to see just how handsome he really is.
