HOW NOT TO GET STUCK IN TRAFFIC: EXPERT EDITION:

Don't bother driving. Cycle or take a bus or train to your destination. Ideally, these modes won't share space with cars, and in some case are completely capacity-independent.

(this solution assumes the availability of these modes to be adequate. Contact your local representative if this is not the case. If your local representative insists on making more space for cars, vote them out of office)

Misuse of the passing lane is a large contributor to traffic congestion. It forces everyone to slow down and use their brakes, which causes the chain effect leading to grid lock. It's ok to speed up beyond the limit to safely and quickly pass another car, then immediately move back into the travel lane. This encourages traffic to speed up and keep moving, rather than braking and slowing down.

Here’s three ways to keep traffic flowing:
    1. Get off your damn phone. If you have to pipe in music, use an AUX cord or Apple CarPlay.
    2. Just. Keep. Going. Once the light turns green, your hand needs to fling the gear into 1st and head off. Furthermore, we are taxpayers in our respective countries. Use the hard shoulder, Lexus lanes and tighten up to continue on. In the case of Lexus lanes, get on and off in between gantries to prevent being billed by mail by turnpike cunts.
    3. Take the bus. It might be a taxing experience, but at least if you have a car, you have more petrol for the week ahead, should you decide to drive.

    Drive less

Avoid driving during peak traffic hours if possible.

Keep right. Dont hog the passing lane. Move aside.

At least drive the speed limit. (To the slow drivers)

    Car pool.
