Have you ever looked up at the night sky and pondered about your very own existence? Maybe you were camping out with some friends, or all alone marvelling at the big canvas of darkness plastered with countless glowing stars.Well, you’re not alone. Looking above and contemplating the sheer immensity of the Universe is something humans have been doing since the dawn of time.

Huh…The universe, yea it is big, it’s extremely vast and complicated, and honestly ridiculous. And sometimes, very rarely, impossible things just happen and we call them miracles. And that's the fuckin theory

I am not convinced these numbers are anything real, billion years, light years etc. Do they really measure these or it's just an assumption?

Now, I am just a thick dumb lay person with some very basic high school physics knowledge.
If I understand correctly we can never measure peroperly the distance between two distant objects in space. By using red and blue light shifts, we can estimate how far an object was away from us when the light left the object. But lets say an object seen, the light has taken 10 billion light years to reach us, If space has expanded since the orignal light left that object on a uniform basis, that object will now be more than 20billion light years away because the universe is expaning in all directions faster than the speed of light But how can we know that that expansion has been uniform?
It kind of blows my mid to get my head around things

It really pains me to think about how all of this isn’t important. About how all of humanities problems, achievements and joys are so small and at the same time big [quantum stuff] in comparison to everything else. Its kinda hard to think about how all of the stuff out there doesn’t really give a fuck about us, no thats actually wrong. Most of the universe doesn’t even know we exist. We are just that small.

We might exist within a 'universe-cell' (for lack of a better term), surrounded by other 'universe-blobs' organized into clusters. I ponder whether our entire universe isn't akin to a molecule within a much larger organism, much as we contain minuscule cells, and we ourselves are minuscule compared to the vastness of our universe. Consider the possibility that a significant portion of our local universe could undergo transformation without altering the entirety of this cosmic entity. This parallels how individuals constantly renew their cells or undergo transplants.

Сейчас еë х10раз расширили и старше стала х2 до 30-50миллиардов лет, значит есть триллионы галактик, может десятки триллионов, с трлн звëзд в каждой…

And perhaps remember how small you are in that vast universe and how little of it would be required to extinguish you and all your history. Yeah, not a wonderful thing from that POV.
