The show Flashpoint has what I think are some great negotiating scenes and philosophies around calming the subject down and connecting with them. My all time favorite show

This guy has got such a calming presence about him, it’s no wonder that he’s a good hostage negotiator. Thanks for all the awesome insights! Hope they bring you back again soon, perhaps to review other types of negotiations scenes in movies through the eyes of a hostage negotiator?

Why Speed of all things? He's not a negotiator, he's there for tactical support and to clear the building, not try to negotiate. That was a waste of time.
