    well no one really invents a music genre or movement it just comes out of nowhere but a in australia a fair amount of noise rock and punk bands from the 80s like lubricated goat grong grong king snake roost the scientists GOD and many more had like the grunge sound and look around the same time it appeared in seattle in the 80s. it wasn't just all seattle where grunge came from (but it will always remain it's capatial).

    Well to be honest I think the award should go to Nixon and Reagan era legislation and policies. If it wasn't for those two men ripping the economic guts out of your country through the legislate you wouldn't have the poverty and disconnect grunge was born in.

    I don’t care about the originators of grunge I just wish people understood that post grunge began when Nevermind was released. Alice in Chain, Pearl Jam, and STP were not Grunge bands! They were post grunge which means they were hair metal bands with extra steps!
