My nephew went to Denver March this year, he said it was not a memorable experience, thats being kind, he said there not powwow anymore, not like they were 10 years ago, they are becoming something we don't recognize anymore, its just an attempt at imitating native culture, to natives its an insult. He said its all about this 'special' shit, special this, special that, another special the floor guy just farted, he said they left friday for home. I agreed with him, all powwow now are people who have no knowledge of native American cultural powwow, running the imitation native cultural event, its sad, another native American cultural celebration is dying. I told him about 10 years ago, even 5 years ago, there was still some semblance of a powwow left, now from black hills powwow, to denver march, to other powwows, its this insulting crap these 'wannabe' want to call a powwow, they are now and should be called 'special festivals', there absolutely no native culture in any powwow anymore, its all show boat, made up crap, these people who never went to an actual powwow in their lives, now all of a sudden want to be powwow experts. I don't go to powwows anymore, I'm a full blood Oglala/Rosebud Lakota native, I want to see round dances, intertribals so I can go dance, rabbit dance, 2-step, owl dance, eagle dance, the powwow eyapahas, announcers-mc, don't know a powwow from a redneck bar line dance, but, we full bloods are becoming less and less everyday, soon we will all be gone, we will take the powwows away, the elders will stop, end the powwows, the fakers can continue with the special festivals. I'm remembering the Cornelius Kills Small MC/announcer type powwows of old, we Lakota, Nakota, Dakota, we dance in circles, our powwow shade is round, the circle of life, the powwow was and is still a summer ceremony, that all native gathered to dance, show off new shawls, new costumes, or just to dance, than the contest started, it was accepted, because everyone can join. These special crap, is SELFISHNESS, wanting everyone to watch you, and only you, to show off your family, or one person, a powwow is for everyone, not one person, or family, we all go thru troubles, hard times, we all have children who accomplished things, we natives don't show disrespect for the powwow and for others by taking 2 hours to show off.

I was just there tonight and I don't think this is from Saturday 2025. We were right behind the announcer's area and my friend's brother was right down there on the other side of the barrier, but none of us are in this video, and neither are the people who were sitting below us. Sure this wasn't last night?

I hope they post saturdays evening grand entry too lol
