France Political Crisis: Macron Gives PM Lecornu 48 Hours to Salvage Government
French President Emmanuel Macron gave his outgoing prime minister Sebastien Lecornu 48 hours to negotiate with the nation’s political parties in an effort to prevent the country from falling deeper into crisis. Lecornu unexpectedly resigned early Monday, blaming the intransigence of political groups for their failure to agree to a new cabinet. Bloomberg’s Caroline Connan reports.

Je me permets de vous adresser cette lettre afin d’exprimer ma profonde préoccupation et ma plainte officielle concernant le traitement injuste réservé aux familles afghanes, notamment aux femmes, dans le cadre des procédures de regroupement familial.
Les gouvernements européens ont souvent affirmé leur soutien au peuple afghan, en particulier aux femmes, mais la réalité vécue par les demandeurs montre une contradiction flagrante entre ces déclarations et les pratiques administratives.
Ma sœur, mariée depuis plus d’un an, a soumis tous les documents officiels requis, y compris l’acte de mariage, les traductions certifiées et les attestations nécessaires. Malgré cela, son dossier reste bloqué et de nouveaux documents, souvent inutiles et redondants, lui sont constamment demandés.
Son époux réside légalement en France, tandis qu’elle vit toujours en Afghanistan, un pays où la sécurité et la dignité des femmes sont gravement menacées. Ce retard administratif cause une grande détresse morale et met en danger la vie et la stabilité familiale de nombreux couples afghans.
Nous demandons instamment aux autorités européennes de faire correspondre leurs actions à leurs promesses publiques, et de prendre des mesures concrètes pour accélérer les procédures de regroupement familial des citoyens afghans, conformément aux principes humanitaires et aux droits fondamentaux.
Je vous remercie de l’attention que vous porterez à cette requête et espère une réponse rapide et équitable.
