Famous Documentaries That Bent The Truth

People understandably expect to be presented with facts when they watch a documentary. There are, however, some notable or high-profile things that documentaries got wrong. Although truth and authenticity are elements every nonfiction film should strive for, movies are made by people, and sometimes people make mistakes, or have a bias or agenda related to a controversial subject that leads to inaccuracies, omissions, or misleading conclusions. Historical documentaries are particularly susceptible to these flaws.

I really hope King of Kong is part of this. The documentary is highly praised however Billy Mitchell's achievements are very questionable.

SuperSize Me may have some results fudged, but never had a documentary before impacted the way people looked at Fast Food in general. Fast food empires changed their entire company models after this little phenomenal documentary aired, so I'd argue that "The Truth" wasn't bent entirely.

3:07, these med students are in Europe where fast food has way different ingredient's than the US counterpart, lot of ingredients in McDonald's food is banned in Europe so i think this isn't a fair assessment.

"Documentaries" like the Principle are why we have flat earthers.
"What The ^%$# Do We Know" is another one that used experts to falsly put forth nutty ideas.

Poor lemmings!! Why go thru all the trouble of gathering them up and forcing them to run off a cliff to their death if this wasn't even a true representation of their natural behavior??!! Generations grew up believing this myth … 🙁

in reference to the Anti-Abortion film, are you sure those doctors or scientists weren't on the side of Abortion? A better documentary about this subject is Lake of Fire.

The problem with saying a baby who is 22 weeks along can’t feel pain or is it 24 weeks? When we know they cry when born and have tears, just can’t be true. Please do your research. We save babies at 22,23,24 weeks so saying their nervous system isn’t intact or exist. I can’t remember the exact wording but that can’t be right. You have to do your due diligence in stating this as fact. It just can’t be right. They wouldn’t cry, they wouldn’t feel pain. They would lay there like potato’s when we know they don’t. A lot of documentaries are slanted, I know that but babies are babies if you don’t want it it isn’t a baby I guess, if you do want it it is. It can’t be both sorry

I watched super size me. The fact is if your in your early 20s, one monthe of unhealthy eating wont do much to you. The fact that he drank alcohol is why he ended up mire sick. When I was in my early 20s, I could not gain a pound eating fastfood. But I drank alot. Later when I was 28. I worked out but because of alcohol my blood pressure was 158/ 99. When making the choice to stop drinking for a week and get a blood pressure test, it went to 130/97 know from experience. Alcohol is the main killer. The combination of bad food and alcohol is worse. For early 20 year olds who are active and eating cheap food because they are in college wont kill them anytime soon.

Yeah, charter schools are just for profit scams. They really shouldn't be in the conversation anymore but unfortunately venture capitalists are still pushing them for their own monetary gain so

Super Size Me didn't just "bend" the facts, dude was eating 10k+ calories a day of McDonald's to make it way worse and was also keeping his ongoing decades long alcohol abuse from the doctor he was seeing so they'd conclude his liver damage was from fast food
