OK, who else remembers being a kid and thinking “A, My Name Is Alex” was way too deep for a Thursday night TV sitcom? Family Ties really had us laughing one minute and questioning the meaning of life the next. Which episode or moment still lives rent-free in your head?
Hit subscribe and share this with a friend who swore Mallory was secretly a genius.

Tartikoff did NOT "literally" eat crow…literally! This is scripted by AI. Those examples do not show Mallory being an airhead. Ubu WAS kept as a logo.

To say that Justine Bateman had that much of an influence to make the writers change the direction of Mallory is lazy explanation for the misogyny of the writers in the day. They made her the scapegoat and you were dumb enough to buy it.

Gen X here- Hahaha 45 years later and i just learned that the tag line is, "Sit Ubu sit…." . I ALWAYS thought it was, " Sit Booboo sit". This is what happens when you're a latch-key kid of the 80s 😂🤣

Easily the best one, with tons of facts I had never heard of. Great job. The one interesting thing missed about the Michael J's story and Back to the Future, is that Barry Goldburg didn't even let Fox know about Goldburg the movie script, because he knew Michael J would be hurt by not being able to do it, and he worried it would affect their relationship. He only told Fox about the movie when Spielberg was called into be the big hitter and beg Barry for Michael J, after they realized Stoltz was so badly miscast.

Back in early 2000s, I met Tina Yothers in a bar in Chicago. She was performing with her band at the time. All i can remember her hair dyed black, and she was very nice.

Wait. (i'm 45 seconds in) …. THE PARENTS WERE FLOWER CHILDREN????!@!! Cause to me. I always thought (as a 5 year old) that they were some kinda fundamentalist conservative Christian , and anti-materialist. As opposed to Fox's Materialist philosophies. They sure acted like it.

First, Alex P. Keaton was the man! Second, as a teenager, I saw it that no side in that ridiculous time in politics was 100% right or wrong. My parents were the hippies turned religious right wing nut bags; while I, though right leaning was what today I suppose you would call a Libertarian. And deep in my mind, I know, no one of us is totally right. Seems Family Ties still plays!

I still get that warm comforting feeling when I hear the theme song start and I can picture my family all getting settled in on the couches n chairs ready for our favorite tv night line up. Thanks for jogging my memory ❤ at 56 yrs old I needed that lil reminder of how great things were and can be again with a bit of love and respect-runs…if only in my dreams❤ God Bless
