Facts About Bobby Fischer

Weird History | September 7, 2025

Bobby Fischer epitomized the notion that there is a very thin line between genius and insanity. Because Fischer refused interviews and famously cut off contact with acquaintances who talked about him publicly, many Bobby Fischer stories and Bobby Fischer facts did not emerge until after his death. Some may never have surfaced at all. But even from a very early age, Bobby Fischer’s life was fraught with chaos, anger, and instability. Fischer is perceived as possibly the greatest chess player who ever lived yet his bizarre personality later in life destroyed any semblance of a positive legacy.

Well, he did have problems (to put it mildly) with an alleged Jewish elite in America, that is, even though he was reportedly 100% Jewish. A video states this as a mental disease. But, I notice Fischer, to my knowledge gave any particulars behind his contention, and that was true for those I've heard decrying his hatred on this score. So, in the absence of substance on all sides, why is this notable so many years later?

    Wrong!
Regina Fischer was not born in Moscow. She was born Regina Wender in Switzerland and grew up in St Louis, Missouri.
She went to Moscow for a few years in her 20s to study medicine.
Nor was she a "renowned bio-physicist". She was a pediatrician of no special distinction.
So I expect your claim her IQ was higher than Einstein's is also made up.

The FBI did not even understand what autism was at that time and unfortunately bobby a very brilliant autistic individual was driven to madness by neurotypicals that did not understand that with his skill he did not know that it would come with people hounding him He did not like that sensation and eventually he moved to Iceland and died there also and even in the grave he could not be left alone You should find out what happened to bobby fisher so it doesn't happen to anyone else

I knew Bobby Fischer personally. He was a person who poorly tolerated any form of psychological stress and there were times when tournament organizers had problems with him. Otherwise he was a pleasant person to socialize with, a genius with excellent memory who could recall chess parties that he played many years ago. He was not at all paranoid-I think that those that spied on him were paranoid themselves. He was not a fan of communism, as the matter of fact when I met him in 1970's he was fan of Spiro Agnew.
