The seasons are not as distinct in the Mayan geography. However, the 9 month format makes sense too.

Even Europe had their witches and human sacrifices. What do you call the Spanish Inquisition, which killed and sacrificed over 3 to 5 million, nobody really knows the exact number. What about all the wars England conducted against all it's neighbors for thousands of years, killing and sacrificing untold millions and millions of lives? Wars are human sacrifices, what else can you call it?

Playing Soulmask right now. Game seems WAY overwhelming. This seems like an appropriate talk to listen to.
I wonder how many sites they have discovered through sensors that mapped out structures buried underground that are just waiting to be excavated and they need the permission and manpower, resources for it.
Granted a lot of irreversible damage has already been done to native communities and their lands. But, science being denied to sample structures to figure stuff out is still bad judgement, because it can help everyone understand these lost civilization better, including their descendants who are being understandably, but unreasonably protective. It's like the Kaaba. Maybe it's a stone that's nothing special and they have guesses what it could be, but superstition is getting in the way of the very curiosity that's a part of the process of learning and understanding which enabled civilizations to rise…and to more effectively wage war on others, yes.
2:53:08 Me thinks they should RAID the Vatican's archives and see what the Church has hidden there that they'd never want the faithful to know that would hurt the image or the foundational dogma of their corrupt organization or contradict and correct historical records or fill gaps in knowledge.
