Over the years, I’ve watched this video several times. When I watched this last year I was going into my final year of university with what would be a low grade for my standards. I decided I was going to go all the way, I ended up with the highest grade possible and am heading towards publication.

I think my heroes are not really people who triumph or someone strong. My hero is someone who can find beauty in the worst way. My hero is someone who went through hell and found nothing but a t-shirt and still knows the value of a beer.. good Colombian coke. A watch that tells you the date

There is one more thing that I feel is that if you continuously work on something, you develop love, passion and skill in it. And often you learn express yourself in that work but the condition is you must keep doing the work diligently throughout the process from the starting point when it wasn't fascinating you that much.

The difference between Bukowski and any other bum is that he was discovered by a marketing agent who was desperate to make money off of anything.
A movie was made about this with Fay and that biker guy with a tattoo.

if the thought of not doing it hurts more than suffering through the process, if the thought of life without it, or not having tried it at all terrifies you. If it comes to you, through you, out of you, almost as if you are not trying, perhaps Bukowski might say here, “Try” and “If you are going to try, go all the way.”

I think Bukowski was referring to artistic inspiration.. Wait for it to come to you. Do not sit down and say, now i am gonna write and keep trying to think of something.. Same for all artistic endeavors.. Don't try.. Just do when it comes naturally

Ever wonder if the Aliens abduct people they think can handle their existance and the ones that they made the mistake of underestimateing their sanity get dropped back off on Earth to go crazy?
