Do We Have Free Will? Or Is Everything Just Chance?

It’s unclear how much control we truly have over our life and our choices. It’s unclear if free will, determinism, or a mix of compatibilism is the answer. But what appears to be clear, is that we can choose how we deal with not knowing. Ironic.
It's all a chance we are born clever dumb beautiful , ugly , strong or weak most of us fall in-between but it begins with chance it's the only fair process
life's a bit of a crapshoot, with a dash of free will. some things we control, some things are out of our control. can't choose our family, or how other people react to or treat us, but we can choose our friends, which jobs we pursue, and how we react to others. just to name some examples.
The answer is no. But…a person who subscribes to Libertarian Free Will, would have next to no problem with this whole video. It's not really addressing the topic of Libertarian Free Will not existing. It's more like… "hay, things happen that are out of your control. Recognise and deal with that". Then the LFW-believer is like "well yea, obviously".
Even the "whilst simultaneously existing within a collective reality" part, doesn't necessarily go against the concept of Libertarian Free Will. Depending on how it's interpreted/how far it goes. They would see themselves as existing within it, without being controlled by it (as far as when they execute magical free-decisions and thoughts). And I think that small part goes over almost everyone's head anyway as far as what is being communicated there.
I don't like the use of the word "fate". Muddies the water. Also the title should ideally be the contrast of "Libertarian Free Will" or "Determinism/Indeterminism/Eternalism (aka: no LFW)".
I think the word "chance" is a little weird here.
The description: You forgot Indeterminism. Compatibilism is just redefining the term "free will". It's irrelevant there. We can choose how we deal with not knowing, sure. But we can't freely choose how we deal with not knowing. Except we should "know". Because Libertarian Free Will is logically impossible.
There's also a whole heap of implications as far as how we should then navigate the world, on a daily basis (for the better). But I don't think the video wanted to get into that too much.
I think it's pretty clear that Libertarianism doesn't work and is just spooky nonsense. I think everyone agrees that Compatibilism just changes the definition of free will. I think Determinism is not proven to be true beyond reasonable doubt. Hence, I think Hard Incompatibilism (coined by Derk Pereboom) is the correct position to take at this point in time.
no you don't let's say you walk into a mc ds & you want a drink it matters not what you pick out or what is your fav is I have picked the brands I have picked the flavors that you get to pick from I also pick the size of the cups you can have or try it this way if you poor & have less money & only one cheap shop in town you have no choice but to shop at one place YOU have no choice.
