Doctor from my home town got caught for using his own sperm to artificially inseminate MANY patients without their knowledge or consent over the years… The now adult children found out thanks to DNA kits. Took him to court and got new laws established in Texas because of him.
The worst part… He was still allowed to practice after this all went down.

I LOVE that rapist-murderers and child killers who thought they got away with it get busted 20 or 30 years later and spend their "golden years" in that iron cage. LOVE IT. There is a tiny bit of justice left in the American justice system. ⚖😈🧔🧔♂

Thankfully, no… my DNA hasnt gotten sold to anyone. I did the legwork to track my families history through actual historical records of birth and immigration.
I never sent my DNA to any company or gave them permission to use it for anything. Smart Millenial.

I asked themwhat they do with our samples. It took 6 emails of generalisations. Never got a straight answer to my very simple question. What do you do with our samples? Do you destroy them? Do you store them? Do you sell them? ( to labs to find new viruses?). And yes it was before covid

Interesting fact: originally, MOST Corporations were ONLY meant to provide 1product- specializing in THIS BUILDING, THAT WAREHOUSE, A ROAD; then it would be dissolved to create ANOTHER new product; so the zeitgeist has turned itself in on it’s self.

My dad’s in cybersecurity and he’s never let us do any sort of ancestry/23 and me test because they didn’t have good enough security for them to have your DNA. He also went through law school and was against them on the grounds that they’d give your DNA to the government if asked. Thanks for the warning dad!

If people want to find things out by way of DNA tests then there are reputable labs available, always read the small print, it they say that they own the DNA profile once you submit it, then really think about it and the potential implications for not just you but your relatives. They shouldn’t allow people to do this without getting some agreement from immediate relatives that could be impacted
@DarkDestroyer333
January 11, 2026 at 3:23 pm
It’s shocking, I don’t think most people really understand the implications of someone else owning your DNA profile. It goes far beyond them selling it, that wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad as what they could potentially use it for. The best part is people paid them to take it ownership of it 😂
@DarkDestroyer333
January 11, 2026 at 3:23 pm
A data breach should be the least of your concerns if you used 23&me or a similar service. If you read the terms and conditions then you will know that they now own that DNA. They can do anything with it. Just imagine how much technology has changed in the last 20-30 years well imagine what will be possible in another 30 years! Technically they could use that DNA to make clones, they could use it for any purpose they like because it is their property! People paid an organisation to take ownership of their DNA! Flabbergasted is an understatement! They didn’t even sell it for millions no they paid them to take it! I am a truther as well so i would never go near something like that, but a security breach is actually small potatoes compared to what that DNA could potentially be used for. People are just cray cray! 😂

Look, Black people in this country SURVIVED. As a result, y’all have the best survival instincts.
In fact, the least realistic thing about a certain vintage of action movies is that “random Black guy” is the first one to die.
I would say “We should listen to y’all!” But, I like hiking and camping so that would be hypocritical of me.

Also, I just wanted to add how nuanced DNA can be- DNA is a physical genetic make up in your body. There are genetic markers for traits- mostly just actual biological traits. Your DNA does not say "Tiwa tribe" on it. People came up with that name for their social group and tribes and DNA can't know that nor does it follow the same social paths- is that a good way to put it?

Thank you so much for this. I recently just had a really weird, scammie feeling incident with a women of whom I have never met claiming to be "real close" friends with my mom. She asked for my address to send me a DNA kit to do. It was really weird because it was just too fast for me. And my mother she did mention this lady maybe once to me before she died and it was really weird, too, that conversation with my mother. It is A LOT! I realized it felt so weird and wrong to do this DNA thing and all her being so weird and pushy about it. Like wtf? Then I did some research on the DNA tests. When I looked up about how it is done and all and they are basically only as good as who else has done the DNA test- really and then it hit me- like how many Native Americans really want to do this weird white man invented DNA thing anyways? I would think there would be some trust issues there, right? Totally understandable. Plus, they already know what tribe they are from, right? So, why do they care? Ya, I was curious about my Native American ancestry since my mom was positive when she talked about being proud of that part of our ancestry (when I was a kid, at least). But my point, after cutting ties with that "mom's close friend" and watching a Crash Course video on Native Americans that talked about DNA- I was like: "phew! I sure did dodge a bullet with that one!" And especially after watching your video here on this. You are a great comedian! Thank you for helping educate through the art of comedy! I am so glad I didn't do the DNA test. I like your take on how knowing my environment and who is there as my family is good to be in the present. Ya, I already basically know who I am.

After I watched this, the pump in our dishwasher we bought a year ago went out. The repair man was like, “yeah, it’s going to cost about the same as a new one to replace. You’d be better off buying the cheapest one on the market because they all break.” I showed him how we still had the box 😂 we are keeping it to use as a playhouse for my daughter…it will have outlasted its contents.

1:35 we have a mixed friend who was raised exclusively by his white relatives, and is now trying to connect with his Black culture as an adult. He did an ancestry test and was sharing his results with us. He asked' "guess what part of Africa my ancestors were from!" He was amazed that we all guessed (correctly) West Africa.

They absolutely did and before that the owner of 23 the merged with Google back in the day… this is specifically the ancestry test that also gives you genetic medical info … they 100% sold it probably to Bill Gates.. he’s the one wants to depopulate us so what better way to have access to all of the genetic variance we might be carrying 😅

I wouldn't say we're loose with our data so much as we gave up. Experian, TransUnion, gets hacked, loses ALL your info, and there's just…zero consequences. Nothing happens to them. You don't get a choice, they screwed up but you pay the price, and that's just IT.
Why care about your data when it's obvious it's already gone?

DNA test sites are one of three things, amazing you found family you didn't know, terrible you found family someone didn't want you to know, or just mildly neat.
And then insurance companies find out you're predisposed to cancer even though none if your family has/had it and your rates skyrocket.
