Additional notes about Jerome… he is half of the duo Mortal with Jyro. Also was in Fold Zandura with Jyro, both GREAT bands… Mortal was more industrial, and Fold Zandura went more pop rock but very energetic.

I've seen them live twice and they are incredible live! They also don't do a spectacle (no pyro, no crazy stuff). Just (then) 5 guys playing music and connecting with the crowd. Also, both times the tickets were rather cheap for a multi-platinum band

One of the biggest issues with Switchfoot though is the fact that they said they were Christians when in fact they were very heavily in the liberal or leftist political mindset which is antithetical to traditional Christian beliefs. To this day they continue to espouse leftist propaganda which has forced a large portion of their fan base away, as they are espousing values that Christians traditionally cannot and will not get behind

I listen to a lot of different music. I hate it when they put labels on music and artists. You can be a Christian and be in a band without being a Christian band. If a Muslim fronts a band is it Muslim rock? If you don't believe in anything is it atheist rock? Who cares? There are good and bad bands in all genres. No one should let labels cause them to miss out on good music.

Jon Foreman is a songwriting genius. He'd be a legendary rockstar right now if he wasn't labeled "Christian rock,"which to me, as a Christian, is not a bad thing, especially since Switchfoot is universes above what most commercial Christian music is.

I was through a really abusive relationship with an evangelical girl some years ago, she forced me really deep into her church but in some way i managed to control my preferences in music. Of course I wouldn't be listening to "mundane" music but i could pick the bands for me, and that's how i encountered switchfoot. It was…surprisingly good music compared to all the derivative worship pop rock that my ex listened almost obsesively. And to be completely frank, the lyrics helped me to get through the abuse I suffered those days.
Now I'm living my freest life, married to the most beautiful woman, and listening to everything i want. But some times I found myself listening to some songs from switchfoot and, I have to admit, it still moves me and gets me a bit teary some times.

ive only heard one song from them (Meant To Live) back in the day and it wasnt bad just didnt resonate with me enough to dig deeper in their catalog so i respect the work and the band and hope they have continued success. When i was younger i would be more "critical" of bands i didnt care for as much saying rude things but as you get older wiser and ,perhaps, mellow out a lil you learn that the variety of music out there isnt all going to be meant just for you and just be cool and respectful to everything.

The Beautiful Letdown was a massive part of my high-school life soundtrack. I wasn’t even that big of a Switchfoot fan, but that album is crazy sentimental to me. Everyone was playing it all the time.

I was in a band 20 years ago in Memphis. We opened for them at the Daisy downtown on Beale. Magical moment in my life. They had just released the song dare you to move. I'd never heard it until then. Never heard of them until then.
I was a big fan after that gig and meeting and talking with them make lasting memories. Great video! Great deserving band!
