I saw this in the theater when it came out. It looked hilarious in the commercials. Needless to say, I left the theater very disappointed. But at least it resulted in a Pitch Meeting lol

Right up there with Deck the Halls as a Christmas movie with awful forced plot that should never have been made.. oh, sorry, Red One, too… oh, there's many more

I saw this movie when it came out on Christmas Day 2005 with my then-5 year old daughter because she started getting too squirmy at the beginning of the movie we all came to see (Phantom of the Opera). My husband didn’t want to leave that movie so I took my daughter out and found the only empty theater playing a movie at that time where I could watch something (in those pre-iPhone/tablet days) and my fidgety, yapping daughter wouldn’t disturb anyone else. It was this one. At the time, I HATED this movie mostly because I had missed watching out on Phantom. But over time, Christmas with the Kranks kinda grew on me and now I love it! I still watch it regularly with my now 25 year old, less squirmy daughter, who loves it too. It’s a flawed movie no doubt but the ending still gets me choked up. Plus it reminds me of when my daughter was little, adorable and so full of beans. Merry Christmas!

This is one of my family's favorites because the movie feels like it doesn't take itself seriously at all. Every character is over-the-top and it just makes us laugh so much. Yes it's ridiculous but that's what makes it work.

Can't believe you didn't bring up the ham. I never understood why they made such a big damn deal out of it earlier in the film as being their daughter's favorite Christmas dish IIRC, only for Tim Allen to randomly dump it off onto his neighbors (and massively overshadowing it when he gave them their cruise tickets immediately afterwards). I guess they just wanted a scene where the wife goes through hell trying to get one, have Santa save the day upon showing up to the party with it, and then just kinda forget that the ham had any significance afterwards.

Hey! Please do a pitch meeting for Southland Tales!!! It'll be super easy! Barely an inconvenience. I am going to comment this for as long as you make these, until you make it. I will never give up. This is my one hundred forty-seventh attempt. Please, for the love of great and shitty cinema, do one for Southland Tales. Thank you for all your hard work keeping us laughing.

I always thought this movie was terrible as well as a lot of goof ‘em type Christmas movies. Thanks for letting it be known how bad of a movie it was. Let’s be honest Christmas Vacation doesn’t need aunt Edna or the old people. The comedy is strictly just with the Griswalds and then cousin Eddie and company. The old people besides the parents are not needed.
