    I do photography for fun and camaraderie. I was once asked to put my work into a show and rejected it as being too much like work. I hate work. Why would i take a fun hobby and make it into a four letter word.

    As an annoying experienced photographer, i can assure you that 1000 bucks won't be nearly enough to bring you into pro equipment.
    The good news is that you can still make absolutely great pictures with an entry level camera as long as you learn how to do it.
    But to stay on rhe gear side of things, know this from the start if you are looking to start photography : when you have a limited budget, prioritize good lenses. Camera bodies are not as important unless you want to get deep into sport/wildlife, in wich case you will want one that has great autofocus.
    But remember this : you can make great picture with a good lens on a crappy body but a bad lense will give bad results on any body you will use it with.

    And just to make it clear, there are plenty of great lenses that are very affordable.
    Leave the pro-grade stuff to pros and rich guys who can afford spending 150000-30000 bucks on a hobby.

    i just got a nikon d3 and i enjoy it way more than my 6d i've shot on the past few years lmao, i plan to either diy ir convert it or take it to someone to have that done. and also i want an ef to f mount adapter cause i have a rebel xs film camera that's pretty minty but i will buy an f5 when i can afford one. and it'll be useful on the infared 6d.

    I watch all the gear vids with hunger, dreaming about what I'll GET.
    I love the idea of going places and taking clever photos, but one thing just ever eludes me:

    What do I do with all the photos?

    I don't want to look at them, I saw the original.

    And every time I go out to shoot I always have to be ready to push all the other photogs out of my way like mosquitoes.

    In the end I have millions of photos, the same as every one of the millions of people with better cameras, and we all have to fight because there's only one guy who wants one photo, and he thinking of just getting a Sony and shooting for himself.
