We're not all that different from other life on Earth. We share a huge amount of DNA with animals, plants, and other more primitive life, for basic cellular functions. We have abundant evidence for our evolution from apes, from monkeys, from primates, from mammals, from vertebrates, from chordates, etc. I'm not sure how much evidence we have going further back, little bitty things don't fossilize that well. And we didn't suddenly have an explosion of intelligence, we can see in nature a continuum of intellectual development. We will never have a fossil for every species (a word that is a little slippery) that has ever existed, but we do have mountains of evidence for human evolution. If we're xenomorphs, our forebears have done an excellent job of hiding the fact from us. We're not as special as we think we are. And a lot of us were stupid enough to vote for Trump. As a wise man in a refrigerator once said, "…pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space, cuz there's bugger-all down here on Earth."

Trump may be "losing control" though I'm not sure just what your criteria is for that. His personal lack of control, whether that's related to narcissistic rage or tempo-frontal lobe dementia, cannot be equated with the fact that the party that he represents and controls still has functional power in a Congress which supports him as required. If you turned your attention to the system and material conditions of government that has somehow evolved in the USA over quite a long time, things might begin to change. Why would you think that taking Trump out alone would do that much to undermine the system of presidential power, government by decree, and resentment of the rule of law that he and his party have set up?
