Fantastic interview! Listened to Arthur at the Saugatuck Pop Festival in 1969. Still remember how great they sounded. On the same bill was Big Momma Thornton, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker. You can find the poster online. The full lineup is impressive. Cheers 🍻

Saw Arthur in the early seventies with Kingdom Come and last year when he did a show in Blackpool. Both great performances imo.
Arthur Brown and Screaming Lord Such tend to get a bit overlooked when people talk about thatrical rock acts these days but they were both influencial, in fairness to Alice Cooper he has always said so too.

One of the unjustly neglected giants of progressive music since the late 60's who still has a wonderful curiosity about the world and profound insight into the human psyche. The Crazy World of Arthur Brown debut, Galactic Zoo Dossier, Kingdom Come and Vampire Suite albums are all masterpieces.That said, his thoughts on the Moon are probably what happens to even lesser mortals at 84 years old.

Arthur Brown gets overlooked for his huge contribution to "Shock/Theatrical Rock". There would be no Alice Cooper or Kiss without him. Or all those bands/artists that came after them.

A living legend, a great person, and a fascinating conversationalist. He and his partner/manager Claire met me for dinner when they visited San Antonio last year. We spent six hours chatting about spirituality, food, music, and donkeys. Yes, really.

You moved on before Arthur finished talking about feeding the moon. Science publications report particles being transferred to the moon via the Earth's invisible magnetic tail which acts as a highway, funneling atmospheric ions like nitrogen, water, and carbon dioxide directly onto the lunar surface. Also Arthur may have been about to reference Gurdjieff who believed the moon feeds on the earth. Gurdjieff influenced many notable rock musicians such as Kate Bush and indirectly Fripp via Ouspensky and Bennett.

And for those who don't already know, on the hit song Fire by Arthur Brown a young Carl Palmer played drums giving Carl a lucky break at the early stage of his career. Carl returned the favor by bringing Arthur on his tour in 2019 as the opening act.
