FOM is the only true Anthrax Thrash album with a true Thrash singer… Belladona should be singing with a Journey cover band.

Huge fan of the John Bush era! Sound of White Noise is one of my favorite albums ever, I have it signed by the entire band! 😊

my favorite is and will always be Vol.8 and I don't care if it's Pantera-ish (like that's a bad thing), it's such a chill and fun album to listen to.

Do you think Exodus or Overkill should have been part of The Big 4? Only asking because you said Anthrax is your least favorite of The Big 4.

I agree that the album comes in strong then drags a bit, but I think it finishes strong on the last three tracks, including TOMB. I'm not sure I'd rate it higher than you did though with only 4 spins so far. Either it grows on me with more listens (some albums are like that) or it will stay in the middle of the tier. By way of comparison the new Testament, Megadeth, and Exodus albums all hit me harder even on 1-2 listens through.

I like 'White Noise' and 'We've Come For You All'. 'Fistful Of Metal' is fantastic, just sooo raw and real, I got that the year it came out.

Not sure if you ever covered them in any video, but you should check out Uncle Slam sometimes. They might not have been as big as others but they're still VERY solid

I think State of Euphoria suffers from poor track sequencing, some great tunes on the 2nd half of the album are lost.
I love every album except the debut. 🤘

Scary how close your rankings were to mine (although 'Fistful of Metal' I would put one higher solely because of Turbin and Lilker as well as the songs.) I prefer the S.O.D. record over anything they ever did, but STD and ATL were pretty good throughout. It's funny because I told Neil Turbin once that 'Fistful of Metal' was my favorite Anthrax album which was only a half lie, but he appreciated the accolades. I saw him perform vocals with Whiplash in 2019.

I like Attack of the Killer B's more than any other Anthrax album. And it's not even an album.

1. Spreading The Disease/Among The Living/Persistance of Time, in no particular order
4. For All Kings
5. Fistful of Metal
6. State of Euphoria
7. Worship Music
8. Cursum Perficio
9. Sound of White Noise
10. We've Come For You All
11. Stomp 442
12. Vol. 8
Persistence of Time and For All Kings have grown so much on me.
Joey Belladonna at 65 still has the pipes.
Historically: Best voice in Thrash Metal along with Russ Anderson, by far.
Current: Still very good at live performances.

This is pretty close to my list. But I have State of Euphoria in the perfect tier. This album was huge for my friend group back when it came out. Possibly even bigger than Among the Living. I would swap For All Kings, and Worship Music and drop them down a level. I hated the John Bush era, even though he is a great singer. Not slagging him, but it was not what I signed up for. Cursum is not bad, but not really hitting for me. It sounds like they put some kind of extreme compression on Joeys vocals, and they seem stuck in the mix. Probably no one else will notice that.

Personally, I'd have put SOWN at 'Fantastic', Stomp 442 at 'Great', Vol 8 as 'Good' and the new album at 'Great'. Good ranking though.

Great: Volume 8, Cursum Perficio, Stomp 442, Worship Music
Good: We've Come For You All, Fistful of Metal

Dude, I'd never flay you for a difference of opinion. I bought my first albums at 6yo(kiss Alive and alive II), nearly 50 years ago, and I'll still say I'm not more an authority than anyone else, and it would be boring if we all loved all the same stuff the same way!!

My ranking. The gaps are a significant dip in quality between them. 7-10 could move around a lot depending on my mood.

10). Stomp 442
9). Fistful of Metal
8). We've come for you all
7). Volume 8
6). Worship Music
5). For All Kings
4). Spreading the Disease
3). Persistence of Time
2). Sound of White Noise
1). Among the Living
