All About The Gut Microbiome | Random Thursday

Joe Scott | September 11, 2025

The war of bacteria vs man has been waging since the beginning of time, but there are some bacteria that we can’t live without, and some that even control our mood and behavior. So when you say you’re thinking with your gut, you’re kinda right.

I've been working on rebuilding my gut biome lately. I've certainly felt better lately than I did before. I'm not 100% sure, but taking ashwagandha and probiotics seems to be doing a lot of good.

My husband's digestive system is a wreck. He's on the Burn Pit Registry from the war in Iraq and he also suffers from depression. I would be VERY interested in the findings from the "crapsules" study. Might not fix it, but it just might be one way to help, and that's one extra way we don't have yet.

Maybe a late comment. But something like this I'd try. My mums recently been diagnosed with crohns and I've recently been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. Would be nice to find some answers and figure out some kind of cause or reasoning behind it all

What?! "The majority of the studies found positive results on all measures of depressive symptoms; however, the strain of probiotic, the dosing, and the duration of the treatment varied widely". How does that sound like mixed results? 'Positive results on all measures' even on a variety of different regimens? That's MORE evidence, not less, how odd.
