When I saw him at the last show, I was amazed how good he was singing. It was quite emotional and I was teary eyed watching him. Fast forward over 2 weeks, a friend texted me he died. I felt like I was punched in the gut. My best friend texted me minutes later and asked me how I was doing. I told her, not great. As we texted back and forth I was crying my eyes out. I have a a fan of Ozzy and Black Sabbath for over 40 years. I sat in my chair for a long time listening to his music and in shock and disbelief. Thanks Ozzy for the music and Rest in Power!!❤❤❤

Elvis was king of Rock and Roll. Michael Jackson was the prince of POP, and Ozzy was the Lord of Heavy Metal. We love you Ozzy RIP…. And Thank you for everything you gave of yourself to the music of my generation.

I'm a huge fan of 1970s Black Sabbath but Ozzy has been both a blessing and a curse to them. Early Black Sabbath was gritty, honest and serious. Ozzy was far too hokey, cartoony and Americanized after he left Sabbath. Ozzy had been the equivalent of Elvis in 1977 for most of his career.

But Ozzy was undoubtedly an INTEGRAL part of the original lineups sound. He wrote the melody lines and his wailing voice added to the angst in the bands sound. I like Black Sabbath with Dio, but with Ozzy they became one of the greatest bands ever. So many people just associate them with Paranoid and Iron Man. which are good songs but they don't show what the band were capable of. Remembering Black Sabbath for those songs is like remembering The Beatles for I Wanna Hold Your Hand and Day Tripper , while passing over albums like Revolver and Abbey Road. I'm grateful Ozzy helped write so many classic songs, but I just hate the general buffoonery he engaged in after he left the band.

It’s so strange how an artists death puts things into different light. Pete k remember your ranking of sabbath albums and vol 4 was number one but you said “ehh I could go rest if my life without hearing changes again” or “ehh changes is alright kinda slows record down “ something to that extent not verbatim. And I agreed with you . But now I’ve probably listened to that song a million times since Ozzy’s passing. I’ve always “was meh” about it but now considering all the “changes” he went through medically and age wise it’s one of my favs now

That was a beautiful and moving tribute, thank you.

I honestly feel Ozzy knew his time was near and that's why he did that last show, he wanted to be with his friends, Tony, Geezer and Bill, he wanted to be with those who have been inspired by his music and most of all, he wanted to be with his fans, not for adoration, but to say thank you to them for allowing him to have the life he did ❤️🎵🎵🎵

Pete, I've followed your channel for years now and I see you do videos like this any time someone whose music touched your life passes, but I can tell this one hit you very hard. Props to you for doing this minutes after getting the news. I heard what happened and I was just torn apart, the first CD I ever got was Ozzman Cometh for my 13th birthday from my grandparents. Black Sabbath has been my favorite band since I was a teenager. I don't think there's a single famous person who had a bigger impact on my life than Ozzy. All my musical tastes now stem from my original love of Black Sabbath/Ozzy. This just hits in a way I never expected it to even though I knew I was going to be torn apart it hurts worse than that. I'm so glad he got to do that last show with Tony, Geezer and Bill before he went.

I dunno about anyone else, but talking about this with other fans and hearing people like Pete and Martin talk about how much Ozzy meant to them and share stories is helping me cope with this loss.

    RIP Prince of Darkness <3

This one hit me more than I realized. In Wednesdays paper I was reading about Ozzys passing and I had a hard time finishing the story because I was crying so hard . He truly went full circle in his life by being able to do that last show in their hometown. R.I.P. Ozzy
