14:16 game development got lazier! companies realized that they don't have to spend as much on games if they take less time to develop, and if the hardware is good enough to compensate for the horrifically bad optimization, then they'll just save the money and rush out a bad product that nobody is happy with (except for shareholders)

games haven't gotten better with newer tech, all that's happened is that it's gotten easier to cut costs and devs. i would rant about the gaming industry and how stupid and awful the entire AAA scene is, but that's too much for a YouTube comment.

tldr CEOs and shareholders ruin everything

Google+ failed because of Facebook, which was new enough and not enshittified on purpose yet. FB was actually less functional when G+ launched from what I remember, but there was no reason for most people to switch, as their reasons to be on any SM (other people) were already on FB and probably not switching to yet another thing. A few percent of your friends, mostly those more tech-savvy, even tried using it.

my favorite was picasa. remains one of the best photo and video managers imo. I still use it occasionally tbh, tho the app hasn’t been updated in like a decade lol

Do yall remember google cardboard? That time google tried to make a vr thing but it was more you putting your phone into a cardboard set of binoculars so that your phone was right up in your face as vr? They had that at my school library for a bit back in high school and I thought it was a joke or something.

Just for reference, I played Fallout New Vegas on Amazon Luna, and it worked fine. (Not in 4K though, but who cares.)

I also find it funny, that Luna literally was released by Amazon the day, that Stadia was turned of.

I never thought, that google glasses were meant to be used in public and privately. All I ever got from that, where business applications, like showing information to warehouse workers and stuff. It sounded useful at the time, and I was puzzled when it literally was canceled, before it even got out of the beta phase, because at that point it seemed to have much potential.
I found it really funny, when you described people using it in private and in public places. That felt out of place for such device.
