The argument is around death. Just accept life in finite and there is nothing that you can do to change that. Get on with living your life the best you can and deal with your death as bravely as you can at the time.

    That’s a subjective statement.
Says who? Sony? It’s necessary in my work at times… It’s hugely helpful when working in an ai video workflows. You know that!

Gerald you must admit that there is a level of post flexibility that is better with open gate, and it doesn’t end there… Multiple aspect ratio’s, VFX, Anamorphic…

Sony is wrong about this one… They will cave…

Hard to imagine the world ever making sense as long as humans are running the show. There’s gotta be some statute of limitations on how long a species can fail upward before dolphins or pigs or something gets a crack at it.

Isn't it odd that every discussion of Absurdism is fundamentally identical and shallow? Yeah, people discuss the meaninglessness and the reaction to meaninglessness, but it's just the same words running in circles. Does life have meaning? No. Should we despair? Also, no. But we seem to divide Caligula and Rieux, despite them both representing an absurd hero. Sure, I agree with Rieux and disagree with Caligula, but they are different results of the same starting position subject to chaos. It may be a complex conundrum, but it's also incredibly simple.

Life has too much randomness and chaos and absurd things about it. It seems like there is no one TRULY in control of this chaos. I know math is involved in the universe, but, it just feels like I'm in some flash game on Newgrounds or the Sims or Minecraft or something where there is no structure, I watch a serious video about someone's health of someone passing away from a brain aneurysm then I get an ad about how to fix your poop problems with fart sounds in it, like WHY would a God allow that to happen as I'm trying to watch a serious video? WHY that ad on the serious video? Makes no sense. Life IS absurd. I'm not sure if life lacks meaning, maybe randomness and chaos IS the meaning. Also I'm aware of the brain aneurysm fart meme but this has nothing to do with that, lol.

Absurdism and no free will – a good old double whammy – ain't life great! I'm 80 years old, at least I have cop shows, and science and nature videos to wile away the time till the end, oh, and the trump horror story. Who knows, trump might be the end of me.

No! This feeling that we've got it all wrong that wakes us up at night, that there are answers we don't know is a Divine wake up call designed to inspire you to embark on the journey for Truth! It's what inspired Avraham to look around and say everyones got it wrong! , drop all his biases and look objectively at reality. So to today, everyone has got it wrong, and we stop searching for answers because if society hasn't gotten it, it must not exist! Esteemed scientists publicly advocate their disbelief in God, which itself is absurd! On top of it all, people today who are struck by a powerful weight in their heart screaming the world must wake up discard it as a biological phenomena we've evolved into becoming part of the human condition. A moment of authentic thought, unbiased by it's consequences, would obviously reveal that the fact that anything exists is insanity. Because this 'anything' must have come from somewhere which itself must have come from somewhere and itself must have come from somewhere and eventually you reach a point where you realize it doesn't make sense that anything exists! At some point, there MUST have been a cause that created everything, yet itself was created by NOTHING! How absurd is that! But it MUST be true, because ANYTHING EXISTS AT ALL. !
Then people will come to that stunning moment of brilliance, and a moment later their biases kick in. They remember that the world accepts an 'absurd' perspective on reality which everyone commonly holds is true, and that they too wouldn't be blamed for leading a life without a greater calling, that they are permitted to live a hedonistic life because everyone else is to, and they completely drop that inspiring clarity they believed full heartedly one moment ago. I'm angry at Albert Camus, he sounds like a loser. He pioneered the train of thought that it's not worth it to think deeply.

We are born, we do something we think we need or want and we die. But in the meantime, you record many pictures and "experience" whatever there is. Totally without reason or meaning. But hey, it's always better to do something in person than to hear about it from someone

I thought dread at decision making was always normal, and before learning about Absurdism,I believed in the philosophy of “We were born with no purpose,so we make our own”. Now,im opening up to different ones.

Absurdism, on a fundamental level, is accepting irrationality and living however we deem morally good. Absurdism is the permission to make your own sense of morality and allow for evil under the guise of there is no evil since everything is meaningless. It is intrinsically illogical and if someone is a true absurdist, you can't reason with them for that very reason.

Reminds me of what I heard around 2018 while trying to be psychic, so they said to have psychic energy you had to have immature energy to flow it from which worked well, im sure Camus will inspire a second wind of that nature I had X

I just can’t square the projection that the universe is inherently meaningless. It doesn’t require god or anything else like that, it just is and is beyond meaning. I resonate with the ideas of how we can live and overcome ourselves but I think a new term is needed.

Absurdism and surrealism are often confused because both deal with irrationality and the breakdown of conventional logic, but they come from different philosophical and artistic traditions. Here's a breakdown of the key differences, along with some tips to help you remember them:

    ### Absurdism:
    – **Philosophical foundation**: Absurdism is rooted in existential philosophy, particularly in the works of Albert Camus. It deals with the tension between humans' desire for meaning and the universe's apparent lack of inherent meaning.
    – **Focus**: Absurdism focuses on the struggle to find purpose in a chaotic, indifferent world. It explores how people react to the "absurd" (the clash between human desire for meaning and the meaningless universe).
    – **Tone**: Often bleak, questioning, or even darkly comic.
    – **Key theme**: The meaninglessness of life and the search for meaning in a world that offers none. It's about accepting that life is absurd and continuing to live despite this realization.

**Tip**: **Absurdism = Existential Crisis**. Think of it as the "life is meaningless, but you keep going anyway" philosophy.

    ### Surrealism:
    – **Artistic and literary movement**: Surrealism emerged in the early 20th century as an artistic and literary movement, with figures like André Breton, Salvador Dalí, and René Magritte. It sought to express the unconscious mind and break free from the logical constraints of reason.
    – **Focus**: Surrealism is concerned with depicting irrational, dream-like scenes that often have a strange or illogical quality. It's about tapping into the unconscious and presenting the world in ways that defy rational explanation.
    – **Tone**: More whimsical, fantastical, or bizarre. It often has a dreamlike quality where strange images and juxtapositions appear.
    – **Key theme**: The importance of exploring the unconscious mind, dreams, and irrationality. Surrealism challenges conventional reality and aims to surprise or shock by presenting things in unfamiliar ways.

**Tip**: **Surrealism = Dream Logic**. Think of it as a "dream-like" world where things don't make sense but are intriguing or visually arresting.

    ### Key Differences:
*Absurdism* is about the meaning (or lack thereof) of life and the struggle against an indifferent universe.
*Surrealism* is about creating illogical, dream-like scenarios to challenge perceptions and explore the unconscious.

    ### Memory Tricks:
    – **Absurdism**: "Absurd" sounds like **A**lbert Camus, and it deals with life's meaning—or lack of it.
    – **Surrealism**: "Sur" (sounds like "surreal") as in **S**alvador Dalí, who painted wild, dream-like scenes.

By focusing on the philosophical foundation of absurdism (meaninglessness) and the creative freedom of surrealism (dreams and the unconscious), you'll more easily remember the key differences.
