Louis Theroux Returns To The West Bank After October 7th

Real Stories | July 25, 2026

Louis Theroux spends time with the growing community of Israeli religious-nationalist settlers. Their settlements are illegal under international law, and they have been protected by the army, the police and the Israeli government.

Since the Hamas-led attacks on 7 October 2023, in which 1,200 Israelis were killed, there has been an acceleration in the establishment of settlements, with settlers pursuing a campaign of violence against local Palestinian communities.

What was once a fringe movement has now won support at the highest levels of government, with their supporters holding key positions in the cabinet and able to influence not only the role the military plays but also the future of this conflict.

Louis Theroux embeds himself in the West Bank, meeting prominent settlers – including the ‘godmother’ of the movement, Daniella Weiss – and travelling throughout the territory to understand the consequences of their activity. Louis also meets Palestinians whose lives have been impacted by settlers moving into their communities. As the world focuses on Gaza, where at least 50,000 Palestinians are estimated to have been killed by Israeli forces since 7 October, Louis discovers that the settlers are already making plans to move into that territory, too.

To a people who lie about their own Messiah. Will determine their own fate. The USA will pull funds. See how arrogance serves them. The Western Empire is burning at both ends. If you think this is "democracy" you've failed.

    "Is it that dangerous?"
    "…it is until it's not"

That's a wild turn of phrase that really gives up the end goal. It's no secret in the first place, but that makes the intentions pretty obvious.

They all equate every Palestinian with Hamas… Who wants to take bets that they don't actually believe that, but know it's a sweet little loophole they can use to wage their genocide and act insulted when called out on it.

It is quite interesting that the religious Jews in this "documentary" talk about history, about Jewish HISTORICAL connection to their ancestral land. And this scumbag journo keeps switching to the Biblical promise, completely ignoring their argument.

nobody look up the 1954 document between Jordan and UNRWA that confirms that the west bank territory was stolen from the 40 jewish families who founded it.

gotta love all of the people getting upset about sheik jarrah, when it's stolen land given to jordanians/"palestinians".

So lets get this straight: They want to expand their living space to return their fatherand to a pure ethnonationalist authoritarian regime which will usher in a return to glory, but to achieve it they have to come up with a final solution to the arab problem… Yeah, they're done. No quarter.

in 1948 Trans Jordan occupied the area known for 3,000 as Judea, renamed the area to West Bank, itself to Jordan and annexed it. So now all the "progressive" liberals essentially accepted this.
This is a simple fact that this "journalist" can't dispute.

The saddest part isn't the individual actions of anyone that Louis spoke with here or the violence against each other or the oppressed justifying becoming oppressors. It's that the mindset behind all these emotions… on both sides… has been going on for centuries. It's literally ingrained. And it seems nothing (NOTHING) at all will ever change it. It's almost as though it has been scripted to be this way.
