I looked at three homes worth over $100 million each and one of them is technically larger than Manhattan.

This week I’ve got a $157 million Palm Beach mansion with $8,000 crane statues and no safety railings by the water, a $400 million LA estate that spared no expense on gold bathrooms but somehow combined the tennis and basketball courts, and a $125 million upstate New York property with 36,000 acres, 80 miles of private road, and the most photogenic deer I have ever seen. There is also a dog on Zillow that I need to discuss. I need to take a break from these.

The massive area is kind of cool, but shouldn’t be private. It would be cool to live there for a month though and hike/cycle around and do some exploring. I kind of doubt this will sell easily. It’s only for people who really like it private, but the upkeep of the area must be immense and the houses/huts don’t look fancy enough to attract people with that Kind of money…

Dang it, maybe my tastes are expensive, because at the very same time Ryan launched into his critique of spending money on bird statues, i thought to myself "huh, those bird statues complement the arch quite nicely, I would've gone for something more classical but this is actually not an inappropriate choice". Tbh, if rich people gotta spend money on things, i think art is one of the best things they could pay for. Of course one might question the artistic merit of the bird statues, but they're sure more tasteful than many a monstrosity one usually sees in those ridicuously overpriced mansions.

The truth is, no matter how bad the economy gets, most of us need to strive for great ideas and also make decisions on how to survive and become successful, although not all of us were financially literate early enough to understand this. For me I was 40 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps on how to better my life, I went from $120,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and with over $895,000 net worth. It may not SOUND like a lot, but I'm so proud of myself for it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $100,000 annually) with no debts at all. It's a good feeling! Hopefully I will retire soon and purchase another new house for my retirement.
