Ian Felice song “In Memoriam” played by DUG in Ireland.
I was on a little tour, headed from Dublin to Cork in a very stiff seat in the DUG band van, when we stopped along the way at a beautiful old castle. We sat down on a windy rock high above the surrounding fields to record this little Ian Felice number, “In Memoriam”. I can see why Conor likes it, it being a great song but also very reminiscent of his own writing. Dare I say influential? I know Conor lived a long while in upstate New York, home of the Felice Bros if i’m not mistaken. Maybe its in the water.
I haven’t dug much into the Felice Brother’s discography, but many of the artists I respect love them, and I’ve had the great pleasure of meeting at least one former member. I’ve heard the hits of course, but every song I hear past that continues to delight. It’s like leaving a new Christmas present to surprise myself with every day of the year. I’d put them, along with Jason Molina, in a sort of Midwest poetry genre all its own.

Love to see DUG covering an Ian Felice tune. Only they could do it such justice. One of the best new bands on the scene, covering a timeless folk tune. Love to DUG and Ian Felice and GemsOnVHS.
