Swami Sarvapriyananda is one of the world’s leading teachers of Advaita Vedanta, the non-dual philosophical tradition rooted in Hinduism, which places rational inquiry and self-investigation at its core. As head of the Vedanta Society of New York, he is renowned for his clear and rigorous presentations of Advaita Vedanta, and for showing how its insights resonate with modern developments in analytic philosophy, neuroscience, and physics.
In this conversation with Hans Busstra, Swami Sarvapriyananda explores the metaphysics of Advaita Vedanta, the meaning of the great saying “That Thou Art” (Tat Tvam Asi), how Advaita differs from other schools of Hinduism and Buddhism, and why it offers a unique perspective on the problem of suffering.

When the fish takes the bait it's hooked. One more will lose it's freedom. Don't fall for the bait cause once you're hooked then that's the end my friend. Just a blank stare into nothingness.

When a presentation addresses complex and profound ideas, background music is often unnecessary. Rather than enhancing the experience, it can distract listeners and hinder their ability to concentrate on and fully understand the content.

All is not. Jiva is Maya, not the original Observer.
Jiva is a potency, not the entirety, not eternal, Maya. It never existed; the only thing eternal, immutable, all pervading, (sat, chit, ananda), is our true state, despite the temporary Maya in play; Truth only "is".
Om tat Sat, Tat Tvam Asi.
Do Jivas "possess" or are the source of their own consciousness? Possibly not; they may be the reflection of the pure consciousness which is the Observer.
More learning and meditation are needed.

“My god, the wicked.” – No. Meaning is found through good works and faith in Jesus Christ. Forgive yourself but go and sin no more.

It's been afew months I've found Avaita Vedanta and it answers pretty much all my questions every question this philosophy both raises and answers has been in my mind since childhood and I'm angry this philosophy has not been famous I only found out because I had started to read Indian mythology specifically the statue of the dancing shiva captivated me and I started reading and going deeper till I found this school of philosophy
