Dreams Are Weird. Here’s Why.

In glad I don't allow my thoughts to dictate to me then.

Eleven years ago I had a dream that I was in the Revolutionary War. I could feel my clothes, smell the fire, taste the "whatever the hell was in the pot" food – for three days. I walked around with people I knew were friends and comrades, marched a sack full of crap down some rutted dirt road for miles, drilled loading and dry firing a rifle because none of us had enough ammo or flints to waste on live practice shots, went to sleep in a tiny waxed canvas tent that another guy and I traded carrying because it was bulky and annoying, and woke up still there. On the third day I remember walking crouched through a field of neck high grass, when I heard a click and a pop from somewhere behind me. A pain I had never felt shot through my lower back and I snapped awake bleeding on the floor of my bedroom where I had rolled out of bed and busted my back open on my night stand.
Best I can figure, I fell out of bed, and in the half second it took me to wake up, my brain made up some wild bullshit about why my back hurt so much.

Fun thing to try, everytime I have an interesting dream I put it into chat gpt and ask for freudiana and Jungian interpretations of my dream. I frequently find that especially the Jungian interpretation makes a ton of sense based on things that have been thinking about or things going on in my life. I even found some of the weirder dreams that just seem really random and don’t feel like they carry much meaning can have some spot on interpretations.

As far as the dogs in elevators/cars thing goes, dogs are much more tuned in to scent and auditory cues than we are and so they maybe are recognizing new places in ways that we wouldn’t think about normally.

in 1993 i had a series of lucid dreams. three of them were about donald trump being president. you do not have to believe me, but it is true. on my life, i give my word. i will not go into details but it was very bad. there was a character named nikolai who said that russia was going to attack america and i needed to be ready. i was ready – but not sure for what, it is not like i am not saving the world or anything. i also had a dream that i was dying – and i laid down between my mother and father — when a flash of light came so bright – it woke me up. i was shaking, crying — no memory of what i saw, but i feel i saw something very powerful within that flash. either way – it was the first time i got to lay with my parents since i was six years old and it was so precious. and please do not have fear about trump because of my dreams. they were just dreams, right?

As a child I had nightmares all the time that the world was ending somehow and I'm going up to all the people I knew to tell them but they can't see or hear me yelling as it happens and I would wake up suddenly covered in sweat and sometimes I'd fallen off the bed or would wake up in a different room. I learned I have post traumatic stress disorder with dissociative features. I also have intrusive day nightmares. Idk what else to call them.

Is it just me or does the guy at the top left of frame at 21:27 look a hell of a lot like Johnny Cash?
