…Years later when I was in a drug treatment program, they asked us to write a letter to our old selfs. The “us” before the drugs, before the hurt, before we lost our self…and when I sat down to write, all that echoed in my brain was this song. And it’s been so hard to listen to 20 years later. I feel like it matched up with how I felt then, and now. The sadness, and the anger, and the acceptance of that’s just how I’m gonna live. Idk it’s hard to put into words. I hope that no one else ever has to feel that way.

Like you I've been a fan of the music since the 90s. I have recently been digging into more of the history. Great video and I did not know the story of the day of the recording. Thank you. I guess I should watch the documentary about them.

Jesus would I love to hear Andy Wallace tell stories about those Soup recording sessions… He’s notorious for not doing interviews, though he just recently did one with Rick Beato, Rick never asked about the Blind Melon sessions, Andy has such a huge catalog of legendary work they just never got to it unfortunately.

Love your video! It’s about Decay…from Fame and Addiction. The original working title and demo was “Head Full of Cavities” and Shannon sang that rather than Mouthful. Loved your video and your passion is true. Awesome video ❤
